@BigDickBarclay @Broe_Tech Just get the vevor one. No need to spend the big bucks for side work.
English

@Broe_Tech I’m basically rolling all of this into a pro press so I don’t think they’ll be able to catch that

Day one of saying yes to side work that I would’ve turned down before has netted me 3k
Toilet.
Hose bib.
Water heater.
New sink faucet.
Shower mixing valve.
All done under the table with no warranty and they were happy to pay it. Crying because their usual guy was going to charge 7k in labor for the same thing. Said they are going to refer me to everyone they know.
Their whole AC and furnace desperately needs to be replaced. They said they’re going to do it next year. I definitely won’t be turning that call over to Mr time clock penny pincher.

Thinking about opening spots to my private community again..
Last time I released public access was in 2025 but the game has changed
Price errors don’t just happen online anymore, they happen in store too
Most people don’t know because retailers don’t promote them
This means there are now hundreds of other items being sold for up to 90% off retail in your area but you won’t ever know unless social media tells you
and when they do it’s too late because thousands of other people rush to buy the same deals with low stock
But inside our private community we made a bot that will scan every store and tell you when items are 70-99% off in your area
Complete privacy - no competition
and you don’t get orders cancelled lol
Here’s some of the stuff we have found that our students have bought..
Debating releasing access to this because I do, the game has changed forever and there’s no going back..

We started asking customers if they want properties seeded after clearing.
They definitely do.
Ive got literally dozens of them right now. So I started reaching out to newer / small landscaping companies to set up a process for them to come out after we clear.
My only rule is you have to answer the phone. So far zero answers for what could easily be a consistent $250k / year in seeding work 😂

@NoRiskNoParty Eh. What's to stop them from overloading the trailer or using the skid steer for mulching without you knowing? Lots of risk here.
English

Bobcats plus dump trailers is one of those rental plays that looks too simple until you see it working.
Here’s the core idea.
A skid steer alone rents all day.
A dump trailer alone rents all day.
But the combo is the cheat code.
You deliver one dump trailer with the skid steer inside it.
Customer unloads it, uses both, returns both.
One trip. Two rentals. Less chaos.
That is how you get to $800 to $1,000 a day in fees when the demand is hot.
Now the part most people argue about.
Yes, U.S. skid steers are expensive.
And yes, you can often source cheaper overseas.
But do not get cute with compliance.
If you are importing equipment, you need to treat emissions and safety like life or death.
Get the paperwork. Verify the engine certification. Verify the serial numbers. Verify that it is actually legal to import and operate where you live. If you cannot verify it, do not buy it.
Here is why I still love the business model even with that extra homework.
Contractors do not want storage.
They do not want maintenance.
They want availability, right now.
And unlike some rentals, this one does not need to come back looking like a hotel room.
It is heavy equipment. Dirt is normal. You are renting function.
If you want to level it up, bundle it.
Sell the convenience.
Dump trailer plus skid steer, delivered same day.
One call, one invoice, one pickup.
That is what people pay for.
Don't forget to follow for more ideas I actually make a living with (:

The thing buying a co2 monitor taught me is that the obsession with insulating and sealing houses is psycho. You actually want a window cracked 24:7.
The solution to climate change isn’t hotboxing in 2000ppm co2: it’s window open + AC / Heat On powered by abundant electricity.
Chris Lakin@chrislakin
>wake up with a mild sense of doom >check CO2 meter — 1400ppm >ah

@paleonormie It's doable but only if you have construction experience and lots of money and time. It's a whole lot easier to just hire someone else.
English

don't do this unless your dad is a retired contractor and you can take literal years off from your 9-5 without consequence
Axel@BannedPhysics
I strongly encourage younger Americans to consider looking into building your own home from the ground up (settling the land as it were) These ridiculous prices and shoddy construction of houses in HOA nightmare communities are not worth it
English

@MindlessMechani @bethanyjbabcock Yup. The code says they can require whatever they want. Fun times
English

@bethanyjbabcock And they cite NFPA 'AHJ...' (Authority Having Jurisdiction) when they do that. Recourse...hire an engineering firm familar w/ NFPA codes for Tens of thousands and fight.
I have stories..........fun stuff.
English

I remember sitting in a meeting with the city telling me I now needed to sprinkle a single suite of an older retail center.
I asked to see the code and they gave me a sheet of paper.
I looked at it and said “I would like everyone in the room to acknowledge I was just handed a marketing flyer for sprinkler systems”
Barrett Linburg@DallasAptGP
Turns out they also write the code

@PillenEmSoft @DerrickEvans4WV If you want to do it on a track or wheel skid loader you're going to be putting a different (bigger) set of forces on it and most of them are designed for tractors and a pull configuration. Honestly I don't know. I wouldn't use my loader for that work.
English

@PillenEmSoft @DerrickEvans4WV They're all pretty comparable. Catawba Attachments, Everything Attachments and a few other companies seem to make decent ones. You just need rippers and two blades of a 3pt that's a little wider than your rear wheels. That's it.I use a top and tilt kit too but it's not necessary
English

@DerrickEvans4WV Yeah ive been looking at land planes but even then theres so many different ones.
English

@DerrickEvans4WV That's going to be a huge pain to use off a loader. Much easier from a tractor driving forwards. Great attachment though!
English

@Alphachimp1 @Hyundai Unfortunately this delay pattern isn’t isolated. I’ve documented similar cases and why NHTSA complaints matter when safety is involved. Info is pinned on my profile.
English

hey @Hyundai my mother and I almost got killed by a passing semi truck last time our 2023 Ioniq 5 broke down. 4 breakdowns, 3 dealer visits and still awaiting buyback assistance. Bad battery, BMS, ICCU Now I'm being denied a comparable loaner car. Please help Case Number 41682496
