I am overwhelmed by your support. In 48 hours, we went from 100 to 5000 followers. One of our posts got close to 1 million impressions. Politicians. Academics. Priests. Journalists. From all around the world, reposting. This tells me that while the system is ruthless towards us, there are good souls who care deeply about Middle Eastern Christianity continuing to exist. Thank you. We will not stop until the media can no longer ignore this topic.

This is just in. Syrian Patriarchs announce NO public & outdoor Easter observance this year. Out of fear that Jolani’s thugs continue their pogrom, observance is strictly indoors. Welcome to the new reality for Christians under Trump & Erdogan’s “pragmatic” Syria.

Cardinal Pizzaballa: “It is true that the police had said that the orders from the internal command prevented any kind of gathering in places where there is no shelter, but we had not asked for anything public, just a brief and small private ceremony to preserve the idea of the celebration in the Holy Sepulchre. There were no clashes; everything was done in a very polite manner. I do not want to force the issue; we want to use this situation to try to clarify better in the coming days what to do, in respect for everyone's safety but also in respect for the right to prayer."

This is a painful Palm Sunday. The authorities in Jerusalem have prevented the Latin Patriarch from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This is unacceptable for us as Christians, even taking into account the wartime situation and general security measures. We must not allow war to exclude followers of any religion from our shared holy city, Jerusalem.

Patriarchs in Syria: “We condemn what occurred in Al-Suqaylibiyah and pray for peace and stability in Syria” Damascus, March 29, 2026 His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East of the Greek Orthodox Church; His Holiness Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East and Supreme Head of the Syriac Orthodox Church; and His Beatitude Youssef Absi, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church, Met at the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in Damascus. The meeting was devoted to reviewing recent developments, particularly the events in the city of Al-Suqaylibiyah in the countryside of Hama, as well as the general situation in Syria and the condition of Christians in particular. The Patriarchs addressed, with deep concern and a strong sense of responsibility, the challenges facing Syria—challenges that threaten the coexistence of its Muslim and Christian citizens. They emphasised the importance of curbing the proliferation of uncontrolled weapons, to preserve security and stability, and to safeguard the dignity of all citizens without exception. This, they stressed, must be grounded in the principles of citizenship, equality in rights and duties, and respect for both personal and public freedoms. On the occasion of the forthcoming feasts, the Patriarchs extended their blessings and greetings to their faithful, and directed that celebrations be limited to prayers held within churches. The Patriarchs also lifted prayers for peace in Syria, in Lebanon, and throughout the world.

At the beginning of Holy Week, our prayers are more than ever with the Christians of the #MiddleEast, who are suffering the consequences of a brutal conflict and, in many cases, are unable to observe fully the liturgies of these holy days. Just as the Church contemplates the mystery of the Lord’s Passion, we cannot forget those who today are truly sharing in his suffering. Their ordeal challenges all our consciences. Let us raise our prayer to the Prince of Peace that he may sustain the peoples wounded by war and open concrete paths to reconciliation and #peace. #PrayTogether

JUST IN: Israeli Police prevented Cardinal Pizzaballa from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre today, as he went to say Mass. @LPJerusalem calls it a “grave precedent” which “constitutes a manifestly unreasonable and grossly disproportionate measure.” Full statement from @LPJerusalem below —— Joint Press Release The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Custody of the Holy Land Holy City of Jerusalem Palm Sunday, 29 March 2026 This morning, the Israeli Police prevented the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Head of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land, together with the Custos of the Holy Land, the Most Reverend Fr. Francesco Ielpo, OFM, the official Guardian of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, as they made their way to celebrate the Palm Sunday Mass. The two were stopped en route, while proceeding privately and without any characteristics of a procession or ceremonial act, and were compelled to turn back. As a result, and for the first time in centuries, the Heads of the Church were prevented from celebrating the Palm Sunday Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This incident is a grave precedent, and disregard the sensibilities of billions of people around the world who, during this week, look to Jerusalem. The Heads of the Churches have acted with full responsibility and, since the outset of the war, have complied with all imposed restrictions: public gatherings were cancelled, attendance was prohibited, and arrangements were made to broadcast the celebrations to hundreds of millions of faithful worldwide, who, during these days of Easter, turn their eyes to Jerusalem and to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Preventing the entry of the Cardinal and the Custos, who bear the highest ecclesiastical responsibility for the Catholic Church and the Holy Places, constitutes a manifestly unreasonable and grossly disproportionate measure. This hasty and fundamentally flawed decision, tainted by improper considerations, represents an extreme departure from basic principles of reasonableness, freedom of worship, and respect for the Status Quo. The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Custody of the Holy Land express their profound sorrow to the Christian faithful in the Holy Land and throughout the world that prayer on one of the most sacred days of the Christian calendar has thus been prevented.

Joe Kent's wife Shannon was killed by an ISIS suicide bomb in Syria in 2019. She was a Navy cryptologist with JSOC, fluent in four languages, a mother of two. He buried her at Arlington. Then he spent 7 years turning his grief into a career fighting the wars that took her. This is a 20-year Green Beret. 11 combat tours. CIA paramilitary. The man Trump trusted to run the National Counterterrorism Center. He's not a pundit giving takes from a studio. He knows what a flag-draped coffin looks like up close. 170,000 people liked that post in two hours. 12 million saw it. But the number that matters is two. That's how many sons are growing up without their mother because of a war just like this one. When the person with the most skin in the game tells you it's wrong, you listen.

800,000 human brain cells, floating in a dish, have never had a body. Never seen light. Never felt anything. And they just learned to play a video game. That's not a metaphor. That's literally what happened. These neurons are alive. They fire. They adapt. They get better at DOOM over time, which means something inside that petri dish is changing in response to failure. Scientists call it "goal-directed learning." There is no cleaner definition of that phrase than "it kept trying until it got better." The cells have no survival instinct, no reward system, no reason to improve. They just do. The part nobody's talking about: researchers have to convert the game's visuals into electrical pulses the neurons can interpret. Which means those cells are perceiving something. Not seeing it the way you do. But processing a version of a world that doesn't exist, inside a container that was never meant to think. The Turing Test was about machines fooling humans. Nobody wrote the test for this.
