My goal is to show the people who are ANTI-AI, dividing the community, that they themselves are hypocritical in their campaign against AI. When fear galvanizes a people, that is a sign of manipulation and fear - not love.
I hear your arguments, but the topic is divisive. How can this be reframed to bring people together? 🤔 I get that controversy feeds the algo, but can't we just let the artists art? some use AI, that's ok, some use a midi controller, and that's ok some drag Splice loops, and that's ok some use two spoons and a milk jug, and THATS OK!
@BusyWorksBeats A "dupe" of what? Music is a language, a human experience, not a recording. All recordings are clones, no matter the medium. If you receive a message, do you care about the sender and what they have to say, or whether it’s a text, an email, or a letter?
My initial question is - how can music producers demonize AI but use it at the same time. Cherry picking how someone should use a digital tool. There are many Anti-AI producers using social media, driven by non-ethical AI (according to their standards) To me, that is a logical fallacy.
@BusyWorksBeats I never mentioned Splice. You’re trying to go for some straw man argument about digital being fake? One is generating music from trained material The other is writing it from scratch or even splice loops mixing, still far more process than any generated audio.
@BusyWorksBeats I’ve been producing for 20 years. The word ignorance and music production shouldn’t even enter the chat box here you have absolutely no clue what you are saying. It’s a poor argument period. It’s controversial because it’s moronic.
@BusyWorksBeats as someone who's used both the difference is you take a ton of time to tweak say a supersaw lead while in the other you just type it and wait a lil. deep down it is all the same principles. just the interface is difference.
@BusyWorksBeats When you use the phone, is it real? Or is it fake? Who’s behind the input? because that’s another form of transmission. Just because something goes into digital space does not make it “fake” it’s a representation of the physics of waveform, it’s why we’re able to transmit data
@BusyWorksBeats The process of creativity will never change and that is devoid of the tools, however a process has to be in place for there to be creativity by definition. You cannot generate something and have zero input and expect anyone or anyhing to consider that creative hence the backlash.
@BusyWorksBeats When an artist produces even loops, they’re choosing the timbre, timing, notes, volumes, mixing, and sound design on a level that Suno simply does not. That’s called craftsmanship. This digital vs analog analogy makes no sense from a computer perspective, it’s physics.
Many of my favorite people are 100% for the psychological trait of Disagreeableness. But the thing is, they are Disagreeable even when consensus is correct. A difficult puzzle.
