Let’s talk about the high performance principle I call: “Minimize Context Switching”. When you face a complex task, think of your mind like a desk. The bigger the desk, the more complexity you can manage at once. However, constantly switching tasks is like repeatedly clearing your desk and rearranging everything. This constant shifting disrupts your focus and productivity. Every time you switch from one complex task to another, you need to mentally "put away" the details of the first task and "set up" for the next. This process not only takes time but also drains your energy. It can leave you feeling emotionally exhausted and less productive. To maximize your productivity, focus on one major problem or project at a time. Dedicate an entire week to this single focus, allowing yourself to dive deep into its complexities. During this time, handle only minor tasks that don't require significant mental shifts. Postpone anything else that would demand a large context switch. By reducing context switching, you can maintain your focus, preserve your mental energy, and achieve better results in your ministry.

Mother's Day is coming... therefore 5 Lessons I've learned as a mom of older teens/young adults: 1. Achieving things is great. Watching your kids achieve things is even better. Invest in opportunities and relationships for them. 2. Parental love can't be conditional. The "I hate you" eventually turns into "I love you" if you are steady in your love for them. As a mom, this is especially hard. Hold on... its coming. 3. Pick your battles carefully. When you have to say something, you want to make it count. Everything isn't really a hill worth dying on. 4. Let them talk. It is difficult to hear some things they will say, but you want them to know they are always safe telling you everything. Don't rush to fix it or dismiss it.... ask them questions and engage them in discussion and deeper thinking. 5. Spend quality time with them. They leave faster than you realize.... each moment matters, and they are gone too soon.

Truly sad to hear about the death of Mandisa. We loved her music as a family. From "Overcomer" and "Born for This" to "Stronger" and "Bleed the Same," her music has greatly impacted me and my view of God, myself, and others around me.
