Last week I joined crews from Holloway Station to complete one of the fitness tests @LondonFire firefighters undertake. Thanks to the brilliant fitness team and their expert pacing, I finished just one SECOND off the target.

This week, Shadow Fire Minister @AlexJJNorris and the new Deputy Mayor for Fire @JulesPipe joined the London Fire Commissioner at #OldKentRoad Fire Station to learn about the new kit and equipment we have introduced to help us better respond to fires.

Am important milestone from @LondonFire - all the recommendations aimed at them by Phase 1 of the @grenfellinquiry are now complete. Following significant investment by City Hall, the Brigade has new equipment and procedures to better protect Londoners. Thanks to all involved.

Culture change in an organisation takes effort across the organisation. This decision speaks to the huge efforts by @LondonFire Commissioner, Andy Roe, and his team to start transforming the Brigade’s culture, systems and standards.

The government has watered down leasehold pledges and u-turned on promises to private renters. A Labour Government will get Britain building & boost home ownership. Labour in power is already delivering with record numbers of council homes being built by the @MayorofLondon.

Great to show @FloEshalomi @LondonFire’s new fire boats based in her constituency and funded by @MayorofLondon The new boats are equipped with more lifesaving equipment, allowing crews to fight fires from the river and carry out rescues from the water and shore.

Yesterday I observed a multi-agency training exercise at @Johnson_Matthey in Enfield. @LondonPrepared @LondonFire and partners tested plans to respond to a major incident involving chemicals. Fantastic to see collaborative working to ensure London is prepared for major incidents.

On this International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, we recognise the leadership of women and girls in tackling climate change. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 @ScotGov was pleased to engage with Indigenous female leaders at COP26 and continues work to amplify their voices in climate conversations.
