Back on air reporting for @bbcmtd after nearly 5 months away as primary carer for my mother, who has Alzheimer’s. I have so much respect for all the carers out there and the amazing work you do. I’ll have your @avfc v @whufc report on BBC One at 18.45.

"And the very people who weren’t worth a $15-an-hour minimum wage, too many of our legislators believed, are now the essential workers keeping the nation fed and supplied, warm and cool, comfortable and entertained." Well said @petulad

"I’m not talking about donating used books or serving at the soup kitchen... I mean bigger actions to change the way society treats our most vulnerable, from red state construction workers to blue state nurses. It will be time to fix what truly ails us." #click=https://t.co/dbBF5GzcRT" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">washingtonpost.com/local/what-tru…

Let’s talk about what happens if you get COVID19 and recover. Are you immune to the disease? How long does the immunity last? And what does that mean for your life and for the public health and economy of our society? 1/

So another NBA team, the LA LAKERS, announces that it tested all of its millionaires for the virus. This is a continuing outrage as each of those tests is one taken away from an EMT, a Doctor, a Nurse, a seriously ill woman or man. Sports reporters need to wake up to this

Serious question. If we started a letter writing campaign for those who cannot receive in-person visitors, would that still be considered a contamination concern? Do we know how long the virus lingers on cards and letters? Just want our veterans to know that we still care!
RI Office of Veterans Services@RI_VETS

RI Veterans Home COVID-19 Precautions: o No visitation allowed other than those essential to care. o No new admissions to the Home. o No outside activity groups allowed at the Home. Thank you for your support as we undertake efforts to ensure our residents' safety.

Rome has canceled Catholic Masses. Should U.S. churches follow suit? In my experience as a former religion reporter, the majority of church goers are over 60, putting them at high risk.

If you’re wondering whether it’s an overreaction to cancel large gatherings and public events (and I love basketball), here’s a useful primer as to why these measures can slow the spread of the virus and save lives. We have to look out for each other. vox.com/2020/3/10/2117…

My heart is shattered. B Smith has been a great supporter to the Black Deaf Community. She granted me her space in Harlem a few times for fundraisers and have donated gift certificates to dine at her restaurant on 47th Street in Times Square. RIP, B. 🙏🏽😔people.com/food/b-smith-d…

Daylight Saving ends SUN 11/3. That’s when we turn our clocks back 1 hour. If you are caring for someone living w/ #Alzheimers #dementia, it can be complicated. This is especially true if your loved one suffers from symptoms of “sundowning.” SOME TIPS: bit.ly/2JjEVOE

.@jayhancock1 and @eklucas also found UVA to be particularly tightfisted with charity care compared to other hospitals in Virginia. 6/8

But the scale of UVA's operation, revealed by my colleague @eklucas's data analysis, astounds. Where Mary Washington U sued 300 people in a month, UVA sued 300 a week. Where another hospital sued 6,000 people in 4 years, UVA sued 36,000 in 6 years. 5/8
