TUC's Paul Nowak at the Together Alliance march,
"I'm going to say three things"
"First. Look around us in our wonderful diversity. Women and men, black and white, young and old. Those born in this country, those who came here to live and work"
"United against the far right, this is what solidarity looks like"
"86 years ago my grandad came to this country from Poland. Fled from fascism, authoritarianism and terror. He came to Britain to play his part in the fight against fascism"
"Then he fell in love, got a job, raised his family and lived the rest of his life in this country"
"I am proud of the contribution my migrant family made to this country. Proud to be the grandson of migrants. And proud of the millions of families like them up and down this country"
"They've made more of a contribution to this country than a politician to hire like Nigel Farage, than the tax avoider like Richard Tice, than a coked up street thug like Tommy Robinson has ever done"
"Second. We're here because we reject the politics of hate, but we also have to reject the politics of the status quo, because for far too many people in this country, politics isn't delivering even the basics"
"Too many people still in jobs they can't build a life around. Homes they can't afford. Worried about turning on the heating. About paying the shopping bill. About affording a holiday"
"The government and politicians of every stripe need to deliver the change the British public voted for in July 2024"
"That means delivering the Employment Rights Act in full. Invest in public services. And showing with every decision they're on the sides of working class people and their communities"
"And they can start by asking those with the broadest shoulders to pay a fairer share"
"If billionaires can sent their mates into space they can pay more tax"
"If bankers can award themselves record bonuses - £25 billion last year - they can pay more tax"
"If an off=shore crypto millionaire can pay Nigel Farage £12 million in dodgy donations, he can pay more tax in this country"
"Final point. We need our politicians to deliver political change but we can't afford to sit round and wait for that change to come"
"The right to vote, universal education, the welfare state, the NHS, employment rights, equality legislation, the national minimum wage"
"None of it was handed down. It didn't fall from the sky. None of it happened because someone wrote a policy report in a think tank"
"It happened because people came together and the Labour and trade union movement fought for it and we won it"
"Let's bring hope to communities and workplaces up and down this country"
"Together we can do it"
"Unity wins. Unity works. Unity is strength"

How long can @Keir_Starmer stall doing what he has promised for years. He is a disgrace to all the victims, families and groups who support The Hillsborough Law and should be implemented in full as promised.

Birkenhead Park is one of Liverpool City Region's heritage gems and was the inspiration for New York's world famous Central Park.
It was the world's first publicly funded public park and is now in contention to receive UNESCO World Heritage Status in recognition of its global importance.
We caught up Mayor Steve Rotheram and Liverpool City Region Destination Partnership Board Chair Lord Tony Hall during a briefing about progress of the UNESCO submission.
Mayor Rotheram said: 'Birkenhead Park is more than just a beautiful green space.
'When it opened in 1847 it represented something truly revolutionary: the belief that well-designed, high-quality green space should be accessible to everyone.
'The idea that began on the banks of the Mersey travelled across the Atlantic and helped shape one of the most famous urban parks on the planet.
'That connection is something we should be incredibly proud of. It reminds us that the Liverpool City Region has always been outward-looking – a place where ideas, people and innovation travel far beyond our shores. In today’s world, those connections matter more than ever.
'They help tell our story internationally: a story of creativity, ambition and social progress that began here and spread around the world.
'And that’s why Birkenhead Park’s ambition to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site is so important. Cultural links like the one between Birkenhead Park and Central Park are a powerful example of what we call soft power – the ability of places to influence, inspire and connect through culture, heritage and shared history.
'UNESCO recognition would not just celebrate the park’s remarkable history. It would recognise the global impact of the ideas that were born here – ideas about equality, access to nature, and the role of public space in building healthier, fairer societies.
'Birkenhead Park deserves global recognition, and we will continue working with partners, historians, conservationists and the local community to make the strongest possible case for UNESCO World Heritage status.
'Because protecting and celebrating places like this is about more than heritage. It’s about the future too – about ensuring that the next generation can enjoy the same beauty, openness and inspiration that visitors experienced nearly 180 years ago.
'Birkenhead Park changed the way the world thinks about public parks. Now we have the opportunity to ensure that the world recognises that legacy.'

This is Alison McGovern my MP in Birkenhead she voted to remove my right to jury trial. She has betrayed her constituency and the people who she is supposed to represent. She instead decided to tow the diabolical party line. She will pay for it at the ballot box. #VoteGreen 💚

Where is Ivor Caplin? What is the staus of the investigation? When will he be in court? Also same questions regarding the 3 Ukrainian 'models' who somehow knew the previous cars and addresses of @Keir_Starmer. @UKLabour

A former Labour MP arrested after an online paeodophile hunter sting still hasn’t been charged. What’s happening about Ivor Caplin? Are Labour doing a Nick Brown on him?
