When people are telling you glucose tablets don't work fast enough that doesn't mean tell them to take MORE. That could cause a dangerous sugar spike. Tablets aren't reliable, and the fact you even think fucking SKITTLES is going to raise anyone's blood sugar faster than REESE'S tells me you don't have any issues with your blood sugar AND, therefore shouldn't add to this discourse.

I have reactive hypoglycemia. I carry some form of candy on me at all times because if I don’t, when an attack happens, failure to quickly react could mean that I could pass out, or at the very worst case scenario, I could die. I do not carry bags of SUGAR around and neither should SNAP recipients have to, you insensitive prick.

@_xyc_tct @Avani_hub @IvarOneEye @SaraForTexLege I do not have any issues with my blood sugar lol, I have formal insulin/gl-p administration training which comes with learning what to do with hypo and hyperglycemia. Chocolate has days in it that cause a slower consumption rate and the dose for glucose tabs is 4 tablets.

@Amanderpus @SaraForTexLege Candy bars are expensive too? Plus the conversation is around using snap to buy candy bars because of diabetics. Clif bars aren’t candy and can be bought with snap. If you need an emergency sugar rush drinking a soda or sugary hydration drink would be better than candy even.

There are dozens of othet options that work infinitely better for people so destitute that they dont have a dollar for candy that are currently covered at no cost. Complete fake issue.

@SaraForTexLege A clif bar has as much sugar as some candy bars. Definitely recommend those. Plus they have other stuff that helps with your digestive tracks.

@_xyc_tct @SaraForTexLege Hypoglycemia turns into a medical emergency pretty quickly. 55 skirts right near a medical emergency. We are always taught high blood sugar is always better than low blood sugar.

My blood sugar has dropped below 55mg/dl before by god were symptoms unpleasant and scary I'm not sure it's reactive hypoglycemia but, yeah if it drops THAT low I need to bring it up asap anyone who need candy, a juice, even soda to bring their blood sugar up should be able whenever they need to without having to pay or have any other questions asked it's a medical emergency.

They are $1.49 at my Kroger (3-6 months worth unless you just don’t give a flip about your own health) Or $4.99 for 1-5 year’s worth (or more) Not to mention that every type-I I have know for the past ~15 years has had an attached monitor/pump, and only the younguns rebelled against it and did really stupid stuff sometimes, leaving them in the position you suggest is a constant thing. It’s only a constant threat for type I, *OR* type II if your Iq is lower than your ego, and this cuts across every imaginable line imaginable.

@IvarOneEye @SaraForTexLege Glucose tablets are famous for not working and are more expensive. These are 6-7 dollars, a king size Reese’s pack will run you maybe 3 dollars, sometimes 2 with a sale

@IvarOneEye @SaraForTexLege Okay so there is discourse I looked it up, the 6 dollar tablets at cvs are a 50 pack but when you are hypoglycemic you need to take 4 large pieces of straight chalk together as fast as possible, or you could eat like 15 Skittles for the same effect. (15 oz bag is 4.99)

I finally discovered why they are doing this! The new Kindle devices have ads in them, which you have to pay extra to remove them. I’m assuming they couldn’t put ads on the old Kindles. Sooner or later the ads will play every other page! We live in corporate hell now!
