The American obsession with water bottles is bizarre. I have an American friend who, when she came to stay with me in France, could not go anywhere without a water bottle. Even from my home (plentiful water) on a 10 min walk to a cafe for breakfast (free water). She insisted on lugging some stupid water bottle she had actually brought with her from the US!

@Shotslol @skillcapped Thinking is very resource intensive so us humans have evolved to do it as infrequently as possible. Daniel Kahneman’s seminal work “Thinking, Fast and Slow” explores this. On display here is just one more example that lends credence to his theory.

@sweatystartup I gave GPT Pro a shot at $200 a while ago for 2-3 months but found it mostly overkill for my needs. For $20, I sure am getting my money's worth. If you're not, I guess that's possible, but I am much more inclined to believe that you've not given it a real shot.

I would be way more bullish on AI if it actually worked and was actually replacing real humans at scale. Nothing is changing and we’re being lied to that a revolution is underway. The tools don’t work! They are expensive! And high maintenance. Dot com bubble 2.0.

@antoniogm They cost more to maintain and are less reliable. Makes sense to charge more. They are annoying at traffic lights as they take a few seconds longer to start moving, thus contributing to needless traffic congestion.

That Gmail AI had the gall to DRAFT MY ANSWER FOR ME, the audacity to select a restaurant on my behalf. It picked badly. It picked the restaurant that is most well reviewed. I want to go to the place that is special for us because we've had lots of nice memories there. But the AI wouldn't know that. Because it isn't me, it hasn't been married to my husband for 7 years, and it doesn't know what we've been through recently and why I would want to go to our spot. Which is why it should stay the fuck out of my email and my marriage.
