Guided by the Global Governance Initiative, China stands ready to work with all parties, including the University for Peace, to make greater contributions to safeguarding world peace and development and improving global governance.

Great pleasure to launch the Group of Friends of Global Governance in Geneva (GFGG) with distinguished guests and dear friends from 42 members and other countries interested. Their active engagement, support and dedication have been a source of strength, enabling the GFGG to jointly turn into a reality our shared vision for a more just and equitable system of global governance. Amid growing challenges confronting multilateralism and widening global governance deficit, the GFGG stays committed to pooling collective wisdom and building consensus to facilitate tangible deliverable and coordinated action in Geneva. We look forward to welcoming more like-minded countries on board for this rewarding process.

I attended with great pleasure the Seminar on Global Governance and global launch of the book China’s Governance under Xi Jinping’s Leadership, together with President Fu Hua of Xinhua News Agency and @UN_Valovaya. The convening of this Seminar, along with its many participants, is a reflection of the int’l community’s conviction in multilateralism and support for the Global Governance Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping. Both China and Kenya firmly support multilateralism and safeguard the common interests of developing countries, and jointly contribute to developing a community with a shared future for humanity.

Pleased to meet with @WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros. China will continue to firmly support the WHO in its leading and coordinating role in global health governance, and jointly safeguard global health security and build a global community of health for all.

Pleased to meet with @ITU Secretary-General Doreen and have fruitful discussions. China firmly supports multilateralism and the ITU’s key role in promoting equitable and reasonable use of radio-frequency spectrum, developing global telecommunication standards, advancing development of ICTs and bridging digital divides, and stands ready to strengthen communication and coordination and deepen practical cooperation with the ITU.

Glad to meet SRSG Kamal Kishore @HeadUNDRR today. UNDRR plays a vital role in advancing the Sendai Framework and supporting countries in reducing disaster risks and losses associated with extreme weather events and natural hazards worldwide. China stands ready to deepen cooperation with @UNDRR under frameworks such as the Belt and Road Initiative, GDI, GSI and GGI, so as to make positive contributions to global disaster prevention and mitigation efforts.

Pleased to meet with @UNCTAD Secretary-General @RGrynspan in Geneva. Amid profound changes in the global economy, we discussed strengthening cooperation to support inclusive and sustainable development. China will continue to pursue high-quality development, expand high-level opening-up, uphold multilateralism, and work with UNCTAD to advance the global development agenda.
