Who decides what is “safe enough” for AI? That question framed the AMCHAM-EY session, bringing together legal, compliance and policy perspectives to examine how organizations can move forward with AI adoption responsibly. Moderated by Arpinder Singh, the panel discussion featured insights from Dr. Akhil Prasad, Akila Agrawal, Niyati Ojha and Deepak Yadav, who explored how legal and compliance functions are increasingly shaping the parameters of acceptable risk, moving from reactive oversight to proactive enablement of AI adoption. The conversation was complemented by a practical session led by Swapnil Sule, illustrating how responsible AI can be operationalized within compliance and investigation frameworks, followed by a fireside chat with Rajiv Chugh on data protection in the age of AI. The discussion with Gaurav Ajmani and Bhawna Ranganathan reinforced the central role of trust and data stewardship in sustaining AI at scale. A timely exchange that underscored a clear takeaway: the future of AI will be determined as much by governance and judgment as by technology itself. #AMCHAMIndia #EY #AI #ResponsibleAI #Governance #Legal #Compliance #DataProtection #EYForensic

Join the @EY_India -AMCHAM session on “Who Decides What’s ‘Safe Enough’ for AI?” with Arpinder Singh As AI becomes embedded in investigations, compliance, and decision‑making, questions around safety, accountability, and risk are moving into the legal and compliance domain. Determining what is “safe enough” now requires navigating evolving regulations, organizational risk tolerance, ethical considerations, and defensibility expectations, placing legal and compliance functions at the center of AI governance. To explore how legal and compliance teams can evolve from gatekeepers to strategic enablers of responsible AI, EY and AMCHAM are hosting a session on “Who Decides What’s ‘Safe Enough’ for AI?” Calling U.S. companies in India to participate, Reach out Komple Sharma to know more!
