Tenants in Britain ‘hit by highest increase in rent for a decade’.
Rent bills doubled since 2010.
Real average wage now back to the 2007 level. Govt cuts wages but no curbs on price or profiteering.
Not enough social housing.
Govt doesn't care.

@crimlawuk Rather embarrassing for a man who claims he's good with tech. Who will employ a man who can't even grasp the basics of a well known and widely used app after he's finished playing dress-up as UK PM?

Esther McVey will be minister without portfolio within the Cabinet Office. She will attend cabinet though won't be a full cabinet member. Her role will be to represent Rishi Sunak's government on TV and radio as much as possible, and to speak what he sees as "common sense" on all those gender, culture and British colonial history issues that she is vocal about, as a so-called "blue collar" Tory. The Tory populist right is being asked to trade in Braverman for McVey
Robert Peston@Peston
Esther McVey is joining the cabinet, though presumably in a newly created role, since as far as I can see there are no vacancies left. After Suella’s eviction, will her appointment appease the populist right?

@carolvorders This will directly lead to a higher suicide rate.
There is no help for those with mental health reasons for stopping work, putting vulnerable people through this performative cruelty is state sanctioned torture.
How about helping people be human instead?

@MartinSLewis @itvMLshow Tit for tat gifting is not how gifts are meant to work IMO.
I tell all my friends I don't want gifts, I'd rather us make time and go out for dinner together.
Time is more valuable to me that stuff.
If someone gives me a gift anyway, of course I accept ❤️

Todays poll in conjunction with @itvMLshow 8pm.
As Christmas nears, if a friend you weren’t planning to get a gift for, unexpectedly sent you a £40ish one... "I saw it and just thought of you! " How likely would you be to send them one back?
And has this ever happened to you and what did you do. Let us know via #MartinLewis

@anon_opin The problem is mass media & right wing politicians appealing to, and directly targeting those first 2/3rds of the population. They will continue to be the majority until society at large sways more toward human decency and compassion.
