I feel cheated.

I was reminded recently how unpredictable IBD can be throughout a pts lifespan. And how IBD hospital admissions & surgical complications can turn profoundly traumatic and dehumanizing quickly. Check in with your IBD people after they’re hospitalized… they may want/need to talk.

@DrTiffTaft It’s the worst, ide say a weekly battle for me. No one is accepting new patients and the wait time is 3 plus months out. The patient increasingly spirals. I feel powerless even in a big city like LA.

Mental health and IBD are deeply entangled. Let’s normalize anxiety and depression in each clinic discussion and consider it a normal symptom of IBD which can be treated with an infrastructure of empathy, wellness tools, and referrals.
