I agree with the idea but the moment you bring government into this, it will shit the bed in ways no one will like even more so since this europe. Just like with social media, the standard will be set to a multi million bar that new people won't be able to clear if they pass any sort of legislation. In the worst case scenario(most likely since it's europe and legislators are retarded) any company who offers any sort of online component will be forced to provide some sort of support out of their own pocket. Big companies could tank the loss but the smaller companies that barely generate a profit will go under. The end result will be the same for both, no one will make any game with an online component because they have to pay when they no longer can make a profit. Like I said it's the worst scenario but "social media" platforms from what I know are required to have moderation tools on the levels of facebook already and that alone can cost millions for anyone trying to compete.
