From Stephen Ackerman: Whatever his reason was, I do not care. A man tried to bomb a synagogue and school. That is the story. Not his feelings. Not his biography. Not his excuse. And that is exactly why the mayor should never have mentioned the man’s alleged reason in the first place. Once you introduce the attacker’s personal grievance into an official statement, you have already done something damaging. You have shifted the focus from condemning anti-Jewish terrorism to explaining the emotional state of the terrorist. When Jews are the target, too many people suddenly become amateur grief counselors for the attacker. They start digging for context, as if there is some magical amount of personal pain that turns attempted mass murder into something to be understood instead of condemned. It is moral cowardice dressed up as compassion. It is a disgraceful double standard. It is the softening of evil through selective empathy. On October 7, 2023, 1,200 Jews were butchered by Muslims. That must have left well over 10,000 parents, children, spouses, siblings, and other family members devastated, traumatized, and grieving. So tell me: how many American Jews responded by loading a car with explosives and trying to blow up a mosque? None. Not one. Because civilized people do not answer grief with terrorism. And let’s stop pretending ideology has nothing to do with this. There is a long tradition of anti-Jewish incitement in Islamic texts and slogans, including references to fighting Jews and chants like “Khaybar, Khaybar, O Jews.” So no, this should not be laundered into a story about grief alone. The mayor’s job was to say plainly that a terrorist tried to bomb a synagogue and school, and to condemn him, his actions, and the ideology behind them. Full stop. Instead, the statement reads like a political balancing act: a nod to the Jews who were targeted, followed by a reassurance to the people who are sympathetic to the attacker and his ideology. He chose evil. That is the only context that matters. His grief did not make him do it. His ideology did. His hatred did. His belief that Jews are acceptable targets did.

Today a marketing agency reached out to my dad, so I jumped on the call and they showed him a random search term where he ranks 6th for his junk removal company. I asked them to try “junk removal Framingham” instead, where he ranks 1st. They managed to find the one keyword that made things look bad to scare him into signing with them. If you need to deceive your prospects into signing with your agency then you’re doing it wrong. They didn’t like when I pointed this out. The call didn’t go well.

Home service pros - what does COGS include?

Just saw a group of middle school age bros hanging out and laughing at Dunkin Donuts looking like they were having the best time of their life. I wanted to go over and tell them to cherish it, because it doesn’t last forever.

Here's why I love the epoxy business 1 garage floor standard 2 car garage, sold properly = $4000 It's a 1-day floor. (Polyaspartic) 5 jobs = $20k (1 job per day) To produce the 5 jobs? 3 people max. Lot of wiggle room Facebook leads absolutely crush for epoxy (dramatic before and after) Can quote virtually (send me a picture of your garage floor) Most importantly, can piece rate labor. House gets $3/SF Tech gets $2/SF Sales rep gets $1/SF Easy!

Epoxy flooring has been an interesting new niche for us Sometimes you don’t know how an industry will do in regard to commercial lead generation, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised!

Most of my local FB neighborhood groups have a one post/week limit. My first post in these groups is going out today. Thoughts on using this for my initial intro or something more traditional?

@jeffdtauzin @DannyMagazu Our conversion rates are higher via groups than fb ads and a tick lower than google ads … 5k ticket size

@DannyMagazu Your agreeing with me in your first statement. The majority are price shoppers. If you are premium priced you will most likely just get beat up in those groups.

If you're hovering around Facebook groups hoping to get leads for your business you're wasting time playing with price shoppers. Don't get too excited about being mentioned in these groups. There is no high income, high net worth individuals messaging in these groups to find a service provider. You want to work for other business owners, attorneys, doctors, professional athletes, executives, and other like professionals.
