My car's mileage has collapsed at least 30% after E20. Some experts claim engines will be affected adversely. On balance, how are we saving fuel if mileages are collapsing? Elsewhere in the world, blended fuel is sold cheaper. But here it is being sold at the same price. Seems like a typical policy which has been implemented without application of mind.

You want to know why we are producing so much ethanol? Because we have a MASSIVE foodgrain surplus, much of it being spoken for thanks to MSP. A vast majority of the Ethanol made is foodgrain-based not from sugarcane byproducts.
While I still believe that E20 will remain the baseline in India - deal with it because this a policy decision and effectively fait accompli. WE will be moving to E75/E80 in the supply chain by 2028-2030 with Maruti and Toyota aggressively bringing in Flex-Fuel Hybrids after the next-gen CAFE-3 norms gave such vehicles a break.

Bangladeshi media reports that India is displacing rice exports for many countries like Thailand, Pakistan and Myanmar by flooding foreign markets with rice. 🇮🇳🌾 India had a record high rice harvest this year resulting in India overtaking China to become the world's largest rice producer. There is so much excess rice in India now that producers are desperately looking for new markets like North Africa, Kuwait + Benin to buy the rice. Philippines, the largest rice importer, has banned rice imports until April to boost domestic production. Global rice prices are expected to fall by 10-15% in coming days due to the oversupply. India is the world's largest rice exporter btw, 40%+ in FY 2025

Trump has announced a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. For now, that seems to be the end of it, mainly because Pakistan can’t afford to defy the US, given its reliance on American grants and loans. India, meanwhile, won’t retaliate unless provoked.
Disappointing because we had a great opportunity to decisively break Pakistan's capacity for hostile actions against us.
