We attended a lovely workshop at Splatter Art Studio and all had a bit of art-related fun, right up until we realised we don't have the comfort of our precious undo button in the real world.

For this downtime project we got inspired by how quickly 2D artists can sketch out scenes and characters, conveying meaning and emotion using just rough lines. We wanted to approach figure sketching in 3D, and the result was this abstract, low poly, 3D sculpture.

Here is another one of our abandoned downtime projects, Tempotantrum. There isn't a particular reason why it was abandoned, it was simply started before a few really busy months... Which we really don't mind. Bring on the client projects!

We really shouldn't be saying this, but we are kinda happy to leave Goblin Pirate in the "abandoned downtime projects" pile. The scope was too big, however we still did learn a lot, especially about managing project scope during downtime.

Sock Boy is a forgotten dirty sock under a teen's bed, and the downtime project where he is the protagonist was also abandoned and forgotten in a dark and dusty place. Pretty unfair, we know. Like, share, and interact with this post to give him a chance of seeing light again.

We love adding a dark twist to our plots, and it's not just characters. We've obliterated entire downtime projects. Talk about brand commitment! In the coming weeks we'll be posting about these abandoned projects, the one with the most interactions might get revisited.
