But the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) does not have the right to marry anyone else after his death. Allah the Exalted said: ﴾... And it is not for you to harm the Messenger of Allah nor to marry his wives after him ever. Indeed that is with Allah an enormity﴿ The will of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to the Commander of the Faithful Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) to divorce whoever goes out against him: It was narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that he said to the Commander of the Faithful Ali (peace be upon him): Be gentle with them so long as gentleness is better for them, and whichever of them disobeys you among them then divorce her with a divorce by which Allah and His Messenger disassociate from her. He said: And all the wives of the Prophet kept silent and did not say anything… Then Aisha spoke and said: O Messenger of Allah, we would never be commanded by you to do something and then oppose it with something else, So he said to her: Yes O Humayra, you have opposed my command with the strongest opposition, and by Allah you will oppose this statement of mine and you will disobey it after me, and you will go out from the house in which I leave you adorned, surrounded by groups of people, so you will oppose him wronging him, disobedient to your Lord, and the dogs of al Hawab will bark at you on your way, indeed that will happen. And from Imam al Hasan al Askari (peace be upon him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said to the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him): O Abu al Hasan, this is an honor that remains so long as they remain in obedience to Allah, so whichever of them disobeys Allah after me by going out against you then divorce her from the wives, and remove her from the honor of the mothers of the believers. It was narrated that al Husayn (peace be upon him) when Aisha did what she did directed to her her divorce, and the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family) had made the divorce of his wives after him to the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) and the Commander of the Faithful made it after him to al Hasan and al Hasan made it after him to al Husayn (peace be upon them). And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Indeed among my wives is one who will not see me on the Day of Resurrection and that is the one whom the trustees after me will divorce. Accordingly Aisha is a divorced woman of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) without doubt! And likewise there is a Qur’anic proof that supports the content of the noble narrations above that Aisha was no longer a wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). Allah the Exalted said: ﴾O wives of the Prophet, you are not like any other women if you are Allah fearing﴿ Meaning the wife of the Prophet must be Allah fearing so that she is not like the rest of women. And this is a conditional state and not an unconditional state. And may Allah send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad the good the pure and hasten their relief and may Allah curse their enemies from the first and the last all together.
