@vivian39_ So wrong. Doctrine and Covenants 76 lays out who will go to each kingdom. Why do y'all keep bearing false witness of the doctrine? Jesus warned us about the likes of you, Pharisees, Sadducees, and Scribes.

the problem with joining mormonism is that it presents a certain reverse pascals wager. i'm happy with the terrestrial kingdom, it seems fine. if i became mormon, that'd risk me/ my children going to Outer Darkness which is bad. not worth it

Question for you guys , our cat has gone 💯 psycho on us out of nowhere for the 3rd time in a month. We’re talking try to climb you and scratch your eyes out, wailing and growling. No one is near her she just snaps and attacks us. She isn’t super nice to begin with but this is insane. Full blown attack….. terrifying. Anyone ever have this issue ? What was the cause?

I went to the Urgent Care today because my symptoms were getting worse Got tested for common viruses and all of them came back negative, so they don’t know exactly what it is but I was recommended some behind the counter medication and if I don’t improve in the next few days I was prescribed antibiotics I’m hoping that tomorrow my symptoms will start improving and I’ll be able to go to church 🤞

Jesus is God, and God created Satan… right? So when Satan tempted Jesus, you’re saying a created being was tempting his own Creator. Be honest, how does that make sense?🤔

You know what I've been annoyed with lately? The last several years have been a push to be inclusive of all women, not just mothers, and while that part doesn't bother me AT ALL, what is frustrating is the total shift away from talking about mothers and motherhood in order to not offend people. I 100% understand the pain many feel because of their own bad mothers, infertility, not being married...etc, but I also don't think we should stop talking about mothers and motherhood because of it. I have a complicated relationship with my dad, and while lessons/talks about fathers definitely caused me some sadness, I also loved them because they were teaching a new generation of men how to be good fathers, which is central to our doctrine. Sorry, big soapbox.

My mom is a widow & I’ve been thinking how she goes to church and sits alone week after week. For Mother’s Day I’ve decided to make the drive out there & sit with her for church rather than buy her something she doesn’t need. What are you doing for your mom?

@JeremyAbrahams8 I am sorry you have been lied to about our doctrine. Please question everything folks say about us. Most will tell you these lies to either get gain, get power/control over you, or both. Trust in God, not man. He will lead you to truth. Man cannot.

The Mormon Church has historically, and to my knowledge, until now, taught that both the Father and the Son have points of absolute beginning, and do not exist from eternity. So this man is lying, knowingly or unknowingly for the sake of disrupting discourse.

Do Latter-day Saints believe in Hell? Depends on what you mean by Hell. If you mean a place of everlasting, eternal torment, beset upon by demons with pitchforks, lakes of fire with Satan ruling over people because they didn't say the magic words of Faith alone, or were one of the billions who never even heard the name Jesus Christ because they were born in the wrong location or wrong time or, even worse, weren't picked by God, then no. We don't believe in that. That makes God out to be a cruel, capricious deity who deliberately makes the vast majority of his creations to condemn them to suffering through no fault of their own. But do we believe in a place of suffering after this life? We do. All Christian tradition is clear that there is a division after this life between those who lived a good life and those who did not. We all believe in a spirit realm following this life. Good people find peace, bad people suffer. We are no different on that account. But what most people forget is that spirit realm is temporary. While universal resurrection is not universally accepted in Christian tradition, it is widely supported in the Bible and Revelation specifically calls for "Death and Hell to give up their captives" for final judgement AFTER the spiritual separation of good and wicked people Latter-day Saints also accept this position. So, where does that leave the LDS position on Hell? Our first death, our physical death, renders us into the Spirit world. We believe this places us in the condition of either Paradise or Spirit Prison (which aligns strongly with the traditional Christian notion of Heaven and Hell) Those who have followed Christ, received authorized baptism and kept their covenants with God are received into Paradise. Those who have not are in Spirit Prison, and can be subject to the taunting of demons, as well as facing the unvarnished truth of their own sins in life and harm they inflicted on themselves and others. Those in Paradise are those who have been redeemed by the grace of Christ in life. Those in Prison have not. Is redemption possible for those in Prison? We believe so. We believe Christ, during the days he was dead, opened the gates of Prison so that those in Paradise could preach the Gospel to the prisoners and bring them the hope of salvation through the grace of Christ. That spiritual work continues today, such that all people who ever lived on earth will have the Gospel preached to them, regardless of when or where they live, and have the opportunity to accept or reject that message, and accept or reject the atonement of Christ. For this reason we perform proxy, or vicarious, ordinance work for the dead. Believing baptism is an essential covenant with God, commanded by Christ, and necessary to fully partake of His grace, we make that ordinance available to the dead, to accept or reject in the Spirit realm. Doing so, we believe they can be accepted into Paradise, relieved of having to suffer for their sins through Christ, and participate in the Great Commission themselves. We believe all this work must be completed before the resurrection of souls and the Day of Judgement. Those received into Paradise area party of the First Resurrection taught by John in Revelation. Others will be resurrected in turn, until the final resurrection of those who remain to suffer for their own sins because they do not fully accept Christ's grace through faith and repentance. Then, in an immortal, resurrected state, all mankind will stand before God to be judged, according to their works written in the Book of Life. (again, Revelation) Only those who utterly reject Christ and his grace, after every opportunity to accept him, will be cast into the Second Death along with Satan and his demons as Sons of Perdition. These will be few, only those who totally reject Christ and rebel against God, as Lucifer and the 1/3 host of heaven did.

I heard a pastor say something that jolted me Every time Jesus speaks to demons, they obey instantly. Zero resistance. But when Jesus speaks to us, thru scripture, His Spirit, conviction …we pause, wrestle, delay. Why are we slower to obey than even the things that hate Him?

Okay question for the LDS guys, how come when you go to church you wear the scoop neck garments that you can see right through the white shirt, but then day-to-day you wear the crew neck ones and they’re poking through the top of the collar?? This seems like an easy fix

@Primary_Pianist @conservmillen Helaman 14. Samuel teaches Jesus death and resurrection brought us salvation. From spiritual death, the first one. All mankind is resurrected and brought back to the presence if God. This is freely given to all mortals. Second spiritual death pertains to righteousness, repent.

I am wildly confused by this line of thinking that there is nothing you must do to accept Jesus’ atonement. You would have to only be reading specific versus of the Bible, with no context, and completely ignore everything Jesus said in the Bible to believe this. @conservmillen @ThoughtfulSaint

@conservmillen False information. Alma, Amulek, Abinadi, Benjamin, and Samuel taught the basics of salvation plainly to people anciently. LDS do not believe we alone hold the way to eternal life with God. Read the Book of Mormon which puts it plainly. Read section 76 of Doctrine & Covenants.

I had no idea LDS members would balk at this very basic, central belief about hell, heaven, and who goes where. Yes, all Christians believe in hell and that we deserve to go there. That’s the bad news. The good news is, through Christ, we can be saved from hell and instead spend eternity with him. This is not accomplished through ordinances, church membership, or claims of apostolic succession, but through Jesus’s sacrifice alone. The good news is that there is nothing you can or must do to earn your way into God’s Presence. Rather, Jesus’s blood is sufficient in making us clean and acceptable before God. You are free to believe that access to eternity with Jesus can only be accomplished through following LDS ordinances, and that non-LDS members will only have a degree of glory (but not God’s presence) in the afterlife. It’s just not a Christian belief. For a believer in Christ, there is nothing good about the news that we non-Mormons will live forever in a “better place” but without the presence of Jesus. That is not heaven. Jesus is the prize! And our place with Him is secured by grace through faith in Him. Hallelujah! “For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”” Romans 10:13

Who goes to heaven, according to Mormonism? Jacob Hansen, LDS apologist, argues that, according to Mormon teaching, one must be a part of the LDS church to spend eternity with Christ. Here’s my response:
