@DrDaveLandrum @japan_nobunaga My son's private Christian school does the same except the mowing. They also do a community give back every quarter where they go out and help with work throughout the town. There's also a retirement home next door and the children visit and help there often. It's wonderful!

I visited a large Christian school near me last week, in which every pupil has a role in cleaning the school, maintaining the building, and even cutting the grass. The kids love taking these responsibilities, and it is seen as part of their leadership development. It not only instils a work ethic, but it also builds character, and strengthens school unity and identity. All schools should do this.

In Japan, children clean their own schools. Every day. After lunch. About twenty minutes. Classrooms. Hallways. Toilets. Not because the schools are too poor to hire someone. Because in 1947, this country decided that cleaning your own space is part of becoming a person. The cleaning rag is on the school supply list. Right next to the pencils. Egypt teaches it now. So does Indonesia. So does Mongolia. Think about the last time you watched a seven-year-old mop a floor without complaining. Japan does that in every elementary school in the country. Not as punishment. As education.

🛑 Government Biometric Data Collection through the IRS 🛑 This week I received a letter from the IRS stating that we were owed a refund and they needed us to update our banking information. You can read the letter below. Red flags went off right away. First of all we paid taxes that were owed and we’re not expecting a refund. The money that we owed was already taken out of our bank account. They had all of our current baking information. Then I sent a letter to my accountant and I just heard back from him this morning. I also saw that another lady on TikTok had the same exact letter. Our accountant told us NOT to respond to this letter. He said they have our banking information and they will issue a refund if we were owed. He told us that is highly unlikely. There is a QR code on the letter that you use to respond. If you go through the process as instructed through the website at the very end they will start asking you to take a picture of yourself to file with the IRS for safety. Another lady told me that she got to this part and immediately knew something was wrong and stopped the process and logged out of the IRS website. I am sharing this information so that you don’t fall for this trick. The IRS does not need your biometric information to process your income tax return or any supposed refunds.

@realrnelson @tyromper This is my father in law. He talks about how hard it was to make ends meet when he started out and times he couldn't afford diapers etc. Now he's very wealthy and thinks my husband should struggle just as bad as he did. Why do this to your child?

“I struggled so you must too!” I don’t entirely disagree with this and I do feel that motivation is a diamond born from pressure, but there’s a limit. The struggles today are also far different than the struggles 30-40 years ago. I don’t agree with inheritance at death either because the kids need it less when they’re in their 60’s. Give it to them when they need it - which is now.

I don't understand the boomers that hoard all their wealth from their kids. I have a good buddy that's struggling. Married with a few kids. He's smart. Graduated university with great grades, got hired by a good company, & did everything "right." He got laid off over a year ago & told me he's sent 10,000 resumes in with no job offerings..... He's working side gigs but his family is stressed. His folks are retired & in their 70's. His dad recently told him he's got north of 15 million invested!!! My buddy said he didn't say anything & didn't want to be disrespectful but it perplexed him. Why wait until you die to gift it to your kids?! It's worth more now helping out in my opinion that in 20 years when you die & you give 25 million to a 55 year old that's also then likely set & not stressed. You can gift like what 16k a year tax free too. It's their money, & when my folks sat my sister & I down for the inheritance talk we both said we don't want/expect anything you raised us well so do you!!!! But, I guarantee if I was in this guys shoes my folks would offer help. I don't understand the logic not to.

@tyromper My husband's parents are wealthy and own many properties. We have 2 kids and sometimes things get tight. They have never offered to help us and his dad charges interest if my husband asks to borrow money. I dont expect them to but it would be nice if they helped.
