On a bed with an IV drip in their arm, burned alive. How can anyone justify the ‘right to defend’ against this person? The nations and individuals who enable such depravity will never be forgotten. They all know and support it anyway. The morally bankrupt complicit in wickedness.

Tom Roberts painting "The Big Picture" in 1903. He started work on it in a room provided at the Royal Exhibition Building. He travelled to Sydney, London and many other places to make sketches of the attendees as well as working from photographs. He asked his subjects for 'measurements' to ensure accuracy—age, height, weight, hat size and even place of birth. In all, the picture included 269 separate portraits.

There was a marathon in Gaza today with almost 2000 people participating. Look at the smile on the face of the runner in his wheelchair 🥹

The King appeared delighted to feed the chickens at Harlem Grown, a local community organisation and after-school urban farming initiative. He was also thanked by a lady in the crowd for his speech to Congress. ‘We needed that,’ she said. ‘Well, I keep trying,’ he smiled.

The ICEHOUSE team and I were very saddened to hear of the passing of James Valentine yesterday. We’d known James since the early ‘80s when we met him on the road with Models. He was a great musician and I asked him to play saxophone on our Code Blue album, which he did with his renowned sense of skill and joy. His move to be an innovative and much loved broadcaster at Australia’s ABC radio network meant we’d cross paths regularly – he was always engaged and fun to be around with a story or anecdote to share. James will be missed by many tens of thousands, by our ICEHOUSE team and by me. We send our heartfelt condolences to his family. Iva Davies

Almost 100 years ago ~ in a patch of sunlight, two schoolgirls cast reflections in the water as they pick their way across a shallow stream in the misty bushland grounds of Frensham School in Mittagong, New South Wales (Sepia-toned gelatin siver photo by Harold Cazneaux, 1934)
