We need to have a frank conversation about #SouthernHospitality. At this point, Emmy's behavior toward the show's sole Black male cast member no longer reads as ignorance, it reads as intentional. And Leva pulling Emmy from the schedule over death threats while ignoring the actual targeting happening here only reinforces the problem. No one deserves death threats. But Emmy and Leva are creating a dangerous precedent by showing they care more about protecting a white woman's image than creating a safe environment for their Black coworker/employee. Season 5 needs changes. Emmy should be fired, and Leva should be removed as a producer.
