@harukaawake @gmalcolms7 I’m sorry, but that’s absolutely not true
English

@gmalcolms7 Not that hard if you’ve paid your taxes and pension etc. Especially after so many years.
English

🇯🇵 There's a lot of misinformation floating around (both in Japanese and English) about this situation so allow me to explain what happened.
A man name Kumar from India moved to Japan 30 years ago and opened a curry shop and was on a Business Manager visa.
During his time here he never bothered to switch to a PR visa (which would have made his life much easier) and instead kept renewing his business visa.
However, the requirement went up last year to renew the business visa.
⭐️ (Before) 5 million yen or 2 full-time employees
⭐️ (Now) 30 million yen + 1 full-time Japanese employee
He didn't meet the current requirement. This change was designed to ensure businesses create real Japanese employment and have genuine economic contribution.
Most Japanese people don't want to shut down foreigner run restaurants. However, it is very important to follow the rules and make smart decisions (like switching to a PR visa if you don't have money) to avoid these situations.

English

@harukaawake People saying “just get PR” clearly haven’t tried. In Japan, PR is far harder for entrepreneurs than for salarymen or those married to Japanese nationals.

@IAmDouglasKim The USA has long had over 120 military installations in Japan. The fact that Japan is USA’s colony is not news.
English

fun fact, Snowden revealed that the NSA has a kill switch on Japan’s entire infrastructure, making them essentially dogs to the American empire
Michelle@D162Michele
How much more colonised can Japan be? Why would you allow your own intelligence service be backed by the FBI?
English

@MkhontaLungelo @TouchlineX Yeah, I thought this is why rich athletes do. Why are these guys getting singled out?
English

@TouchlineX Okay bro but what is the scandal here? Aren't they supposed to have fun? And why are these allegations emerging now after years these players have departed the serie A? Ay fokh the snitch man😭🚮
English

🚨 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: New details have emerged regarding the alleged "escort parties" and the "Serie A scandal":
• Theo Hernández acted as the organizer of the parties and would contact people to arrange escort services for players
• Theo was considered the "boss" of the group... He even bought a VAN specifically used for these gatherings
• Players allegedly linked to the parties include Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Brahim Díaz, Samu Castillejo, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sandro Tonali, Rafael Leão and Zlatan Ibrahimović (once)
• The report also claims that nitrous oxide (laughing gas) was consumed during some of these parties.
• Some of these parties even took place the night before AC Milan matches.

@kevvwill I would take the back line we had vs RM as our starting backline for next year.
English

@stephsmithio Respectfully, for a local it feels like $10 and $8.. but even that probably seems inexpensive for you.

@MarioNawfal This garbage, fire ramen, Wagyu on a stick.. all just a way to sell tourists average products at a 300% markup.

🇯🇵 Japan wins at making the rest of the world feel like they're doing coffee wrong.
Sumibi Baisen Coffee Mu in Yokohama serves their iced coffee "Iceberg" style, and the visuals alone are enough to make you book a flight.

🇯🇵 Japan built a billboard so good people stop in the street and question reality. Every other country's advertising is a jpeg on a stick. Japan is out here rewriting what a surface can do.
English

@nomadicbolton @TheAthleticFC @HenryBushnell @AdamCrafton_ I understand, but I really don’t get whats so hard to just not tune in. We get so much futbol nowadays, the players never get a rest. Whats so hard about skipping one tournament— especially considering all the chaos the US is causing in the world and how much worse it could get
English

@An_Design_Kyoto @TheAthleticFC @HenryBushnell @AdamCrafton_ I really wish people would, but they won’t. It has the makings of being the biggest non event of a World Cup ever, ruined and taken away from real fans by 2 narcissistic megalomaniacs interested only in self gain
English

A majority of hotels in the 2026 World Cup’s 11 U.S. host cities are reporting underwhelming demand for stays during the tournament, according to new data released by the American Hotel and Lodging Association.

@okaythenfuture Any person with a conscience should boycott.

The World Cup starts in 30 days and legit barely anyone cares.
In America, probably barely anyone knows the world’s biggest sport competition starts in a month.
This has been the worst rollout for the World Cup I have ever seen in my life.
It was a mistake to award it to Modern America.
It’s no longer a serious society.

これまで長く日本国内で営業活動してきた外国人に対して、突然、日本から出て行けと言っているのと同じ

@Shoelife2012 I still don’t think I’ve ever seen a person who lives here wear those shoes
English

@lovethanksjohn @mrjeffu I think you’ve got it wrong. The vast majority are legit, it’s the illegal actors that are the exceptions. By the way- have you ever owned a business in Japan?
English

@mrjeffu It's no surprise, given that cases of people obtaining visas without any actual business operations have been a long-standing problem. It's not good to make a fuss over a few exceptions.
English

San Mai San, a Hong Kong-style congee restaurant in Tokyo with many positive reviews, will be shutting down in May because the Takaichi Administration raised the capital requirements for a Business Manager Visa from 5 million yen ($31K) to 30 million yen ($190K).
The owner, a 47 year-old man from Hong Kong, told the Asahi Shimbun, “I didn’t want to give up on the restaurant so easily, but I had no choice.”
Even though his restaurant was popular, the new capital requirement was too much.
The change of visa requirements was justified as a measure to prevent foreign people from setting up fake "paper" companies, but it's also having an impact on legitimate small businesses that were set up by legal immigrants who pay taxes and contribute to the local community.
