Last month I joined PAD for the 1st time as a plastic surgery student. A project by Ufes that for 33 years has brought dermatologic care and skin cancer prevention to communities across Espírito Santo. Surgical experience, lots learned and real impact. Amazing experience!

🔎 Key findings:
✅ SGLT2i reduced MACE events & heart failure hospitalizations
✅ Supports broader use post-MI

👥Systematic meta-analysis of 10 RCTs (>22,000 pts - 51.2% w/T2DM) to determine the impact of SGLT2i in pts w/ recent or previous MI.
🗓️Mean age 62 yrs; median FU was 21 months.
Main findings:
💥HF hospitalization rates were ⬇️in pts on SGLT2i compared with placebo (RR 0.77; 95% CI 0.69, 0.85; p<0.001).
💥These benefits of SGLT2i were consistent regardless of the timing of the last MI.
💥No statistically significant difference in all-cause mortality was observed between the groups (RR 0.88; 95% CI 0.78, 1.00; p=0.058).
