TX-33 raised me. Now I’m raising my family here. That’s why this fight is personal—and why I’m working every day to make life better for the people who call this district home. #thisiswho

UPDATE: Looks like Dallas voters will be able to vote at any polling place countywide. Dallas County GOP chair Allen West just said that sticking with precinct-only voting for the May runoff will exposed the party "to increased risk and voter confusion." #txlege

I just spoke with the head of Dallas Co elections. After widespread confusion on primary election day this month, he told me they are now considering returning to countywide voting for the May runoff. Doing that would require the OK of both the county Dems and GOP. #txlege

I’m grateful to @ZeeshanForTexas for his endorsement and belief in what we’re building together. I’m proud to have his support as we fight for working families in TX-33.

everyone can arrive at their own conclusions but it's a little remarkable that a candidate who outran Kamala Harris by more than Elissa Slotkin, Tammy Baldwin and Bob Casey did was just so quickly and decisively labeled an underwhelming candidate.
David Griscom@DavidGriscom

Here's the thing - Colin Allred did run a mediocre campaign. So bad, in fact, I dedicate the opening of my book to explaining all the ways Allred's failed campaign represents the lack of strategy and seriousness necessary to win Texas back from the GOP.

The revisionist history, coming from many a white man, has no grounding in reality. Colin outperformed the top of the ticket by five+ points. The type of over performance these unserious folks expected would have put Colin on par with Jon Tester. Who could not pull it off in 24

In an exclusive @houstonchron op-ed, @DavidGriscom takes on the infighting in the Texas Democratic Party: Sorry, but Colin Allred's campaign really was mediocre houstonchronicle.com/opinion/outloo…

.@TaylorRehmetTX just flipped a solidly Republican Texas Senate seat. He did it by staying focused on real issues, like the rising costs of living, that matter to Texans. Congratulations, Taylor! Welcome to the Texas Senate. #txlege

Theoretically yes, how we determine that is based on total votes cast and how each candidate performed by category. There are three main categories of voting: absentee, early vote, and Election Day. So take this race for example. With the lead that Taylor has there are only so many votes left to count on e day and both candidates will get a certain percentage of the vote. Once we know the total amount of votes that were cast on e day we can determine what percentage of the vote Leah would need to win by. My assumption is she would need to perform at Trump levels or higher which would be difficult in an off cycle special election like this one. But stranger things have happened. Hope this was helpful!

From housing to groceries to childcare, Texans are stretched too thin. Our “Cutting Through the Costs” series has been about listening and finding real solutions. I talked with Quentin R. Jiles and his barber, Reese, about how we fix it. Watch here: youtu.be/dVZF32Nrjv8

I’m excited to lead @TXCivilRights Wrapped 2025 on December 3rd, a moment for all of us to look back on the victories, lessons, and community power that defined this year, and to look ahead at the work waiting for us in 2026.

The President of the United States just called for Democrats in Congress to be hanged. I was in the Capitol on January 6th — I’ve seen how dangerous rhetoric like this becomes real. Everyone, including Republicans, should condemn this.
Sen. Elissa Slotkin@SenatorSlotkin

A joint statement from myself @SenMarkKelly, @RepJasonCrow, @RepDeluzio, @RepGoodlander and @RepHoulahan. “We are veterans and national security professionals who love this country and swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. That oath lasts a lifetime, and we intend to keep it. No threat, intimidation, or call for violence will deter us from that sacred obligation. “What’s most telling is that the President considers it punishable by death for us to restate the law. Our servicemembers should know that we have their backs as they fulfill their oath to the Constitution and obligation to follow only lawful orders. It is not only the right thing to do, but also our duty. “But this isn’t about any one of us. This isn’t about politics. This is about who we are as Americans. Every American must unite and condemn the President’s calls for our murder and political violence. This is a time for moral clarity. “In these moments, fear is contagious, but so is courage. We will continue to lead and will not be intimidated. “Don’t Give Up the Ship!”

A federal court — in an opinion written by a Trump-appointed judge — just ruled that Texas’ new congressional map was an illegal racial gerrymander. Huge win for voting rights. Abbott and Trump will try to undermine it, but the court said the quiet part out loud: this was a sham, and Black and Brown Texans won’t be silenced. We have to keep the pressure on.
