It is with a heavy heart and deep pain that I share this update. Following the post I made earlier in search of my mother, I have now received confirmation that she passed away a long time ago. This is not the outcome I was hoping for, but I am grateful to finally have clarity. I want to sincerely appreciate everyone who reposted, reached out, and made efforts in one way or another to amplify my search. Your kindness, empathy, and support meant more than words can express. Special appreciation goes to @ImANorthernGirl, @AnaniRose and @lindaikeji for going above and beyond to help make this possible. I am truly grateful. Thank you all for standing with me through this. 🙏🕊️

I hope this message reaches the right person, as I have to try. I am searching for my mother, Joy Bassey (maiden name), who comes from the Emienyi family in Nusomutong, Abi LGA, Cross River State, Nigeria. Her brother is Clement Bassey. She left when I was very young, and I have spent my life without knowing her, hearing her voice, or having answers to my questions. I was informed that she remarried and moved to Ghana, and since then, she has completely disappeared from my life. If you know her, if you’ve heard her name, or if this message somehow reaches someone connected to her, please, I am begging you to help me find my mother. Even the smallest piece of information could change everything. Please repost. Someone out there must know something. 🙏💔

So I got married last year to the man who sponsored my education. Have no kids yet though. Thanks to him, today I work as a government teacher in a secondary & high school. I actually just got recruited to this school where I teach Geography. But please, I'm confused. There's this particular guy, actually a male colleague of mine. He has been working here as a Biology teacher for 6 years. Since I arrived & started work, he has been so nice to me, guiding & showing me around, buying me gifts too, and keeping me company so I don't feel alone since I'm new. We got so close after a month. I don't know, but I just really feel so comfortable & safe with him, even more than my husband. I love his company. If I'm to be honest, I feel like I can share & tell him everything. Even my husband doesn't get me gifts like this guy does. He is such a kind & gentle man, i must comment, he truly knows how to treat a lady but something about his behavior, actually changed recently. Which leaves me confused. He switched from food gifts & started getting me underwear, bras, and perfumes. Even on 'Teachers Day' he bought me same gifts. This has actually been going on for about 2 weeks now. Please people, this keeps me wondering if it's okay that i keep collecting these gifts. Considering the fact that, I'm a married woman. Truth is, we've been so close, and I don't know how to go about rejecting these gifts since he is actually doing it with pure intentions, with no strings attached, and he's been so nice to me ever since I got here. I plead for your advice & guidance 🙏

@ummuh_Zahra It's even not too serious. Had she woken you up @ 1or 2am that she's craving what you know it's impossible to get at that off hour?Just be patient with her. She'll outgrow that phase.

I’m honestly exhausted 😭 My wife is pregnant, and her cravings are… let’s just say, very unique. I’m starting to wonder how I’ll survive the next 8 months. Most people talk about ice cream, chocolate, or fruits. My wife? Different league entirely. It started last month when my car broke down near a mechanic workshop. While we were waiting, I noticed she was acting strange… following one of the mechanics around. Turns out, she liked the smell of engine oil 😭 I thought it was a one-time thing… I was wrong. I later found out she had been going back there just to inhale the smell. To avoid embarrassment, I started bringing home rags with that scent. I thought that phase had passed… Then came the cigarette smell phase 😭 She started hanging around a neighbor just because he smokes. To manage the situation, I made a sacrifice… I now stand around smoke (not even a smoker o 😭) just so she can sleep peacefully. As if that’s not enough… There’s now a nightly routine. She loves Flavour’s music, and according to her, “the baby enjoys it too.” So every night, I must play Flavour’s songs… And dance 💀 Yes, dance. Waist and all. Like I’m performing at a wedding. 11PM. A full-grown man. Dancing for peace to reign 😭 At this point, I’m tired. Work is suffering, sleep is gone, and my body is in pain. Please be honest… Is this kind of pregnancy craving normal? Or should I be worried? 😭😩

Last week, a man died because he was “right.” He was driving straight. His lane was clear. His speed was normal. He did nothing wrong. Then suddenly, a bus jumped the median without warning. The bus driver was wrong. Everyone agreed. But the man in the car was the one they buried. This is the first rule of defensive driving most Nigerian drivers don’t understand: Never assume the other driver will do the right thing. On Nigerian roads, assumptions can kill you. That driver in front of you without brake lights? He can stop suddenly. That okada rider squeezing between cars? He can fall. That truck with shaky containers? It can drop. That driver indicating left? He may still turn right. Defensive driving is not about proving you are right. It is about staying alive. Many drivers approach the road with pride. “If he tries nonsense, I will show him.” But defensive drivers approach the road with awareness. “If he tries nonsense, I will be ready.” The graveyard is full of drivers who had the right of way. Pride doesn’t stop accidents. Preparation does. The Federal Road Safety Corps can not sit beside every driver. So you must protect yourself. Slow down when you see danger early. Increase your distance. Watch behaviour, not signals. Expect mistakes. Because on Nigerian roads, the best driver is not the fastest. It is the one who arrives home. Drive safely

My friend resumed from leave and met someone else sitting at her desk. She earns ₦500,000 a month. The HR department received her resignation letter via email during her short leave. They confirmed it and asked why one of their best was leaving. The response came back: “I got a better offer.” HR acknowledged the resignation. Confused, she rushed to HR. “Sir, have you replaced me?” “You sent your resignation letter, and it was acknowledged.” “No! I didn’t send anything.” HR showed her a copy of the email. At that moment, she knew it was her husband. He had sent the email and deleted them. She confronted him: “Why did you do this to me?” “I’ve warned you about how that job is affecting me. No time for good sèx, and you come home late every day. We’ll find something else for you to do. My salary was just increased to ₦150,000 we’ll manage.” Two months later, he was sacked.

One of the cleaners at my former place of work, always with his Earpiece listening to music while he cleans, i greet everyone at the office like we're pals, hand shake and a "guy hug", eveyone, at the end of most months , i go around giving some of the cleaners 2k each or 1k depending on how much of my salary I've spent before e enter, including the security guys too, i do this because i know how much they earn, and i can tell you its not enough to survive in Lagos, Fast forward to about 6 years later, i had left the organization and i was part of a committee organizing an event for some executives for a retreat at a very nice resort here in Lagos, i never met the manager in person , but we spoke on the phone e few times and i was on the call most of the times with the concierge team. The day we brought the team, the concierge personel was introducing eveyone to the team, and a tall fine gentle man walked in and she said "oh here's our Manager, before i could even open my hand for a handshake, he screamed my name, hugged carried me off my feet, i was still trying to figure out who he was, and he said its me( called his name) , i couldn't believe it , he was the same cleaner guy at my former place of work, now a whole manager?!!!. I hugged him and carried him this time , i was super excited. Apparently while he was a cleaner he was also finishing at National open university, he told how he's always looking forward to the 2k from me every month.😁 . To cut the long story short, i got 70% discount on everything i did, the room, the food i paid almost nothing. 😁. God can lift anyone from anywhere, never look down on anyone , i treat eveyone with same respect.

Family gatherings were never the same again, some people cut them off completely and others pretended it was normal, it wasn’t. Eventually, even that relationship fell apart, they divorced too. You’d think that would be the end of the drama no it wasn’t even close. Years later, my aunt started seeing someone new guess who? It was the same person who once married her daughter, Some people don’t just love chaos, they always find their way back to it. 🔥
