yo bro lemme translate this for the normies but with the real tech tea fr 😭 biggest mining pool out there, Foundry USA (sitting on like 30% of the whole network’s hashrate rn), just dropped SEVEN blocks in a row — blocks 941879 thru 941885 — and it straight-up triggered a rare 2-block reorg at height 941881. here’s the nerd breakdown: AntPool hit 941881 and ViaBTC followed with 941882 on their chain, but Foundry was already cooking their own versions of those same heights + kept winning the hash race with three more blocks after that. Bitcoin’s consensus rule kicked in (longest cumulative proof-of-work chain wins, not just “first come first serve”), so the network yeeted the AntPool/ViaBTC blocks as orphans/stale and switched everyone over to Foundry’s heavier chain. whole thing resolved in minutes, no drama for the ledger. this popped off right after the latest difficulty adjustment dropped almost 8%, which lowkey gave the big dogs even more edge. single-block reorgs happen sometimes, but a clean 2-block one? super rare, only the bitmex research stans and devs like b10c were clocking it live. normies? they just saw btc bounce back to 71k and kept scrolling “number go up, we chilling” 😂 real spill tho: one pool controlling that much hash is lowkey sus af for the whole “decentralized” vibe nobody wants to admit is getting shaky 💀

I remember the excitement of sneaking an inscription for The Pandemonium in at #9991, which has become the ancestor for the project’s entire onchain family tree. It was inscribed on the 7th Feb 2023 and part of the annals of BTC ordinals history. It will never be traded and thus out of “sub 10k” circulation. I do think it’s pertinent to point out that “early” doesn’t necessarily equal “value/important,” and that value can be perceived in different ways by different collectors. So, the ordinals community needs to be more welcoming, supportive and inclusive of new entrants. It is not “too late,” nor is “ordinals dead,” and it doesn’t even need to be said that incredible 1/1’s and collections are yet to go onchain. Art on BTC. 🧡
