If the Supreme Court allows media reporting with a dedicated press lounge and accessible virtual links, why can't the same standard be applied to other High Courts across India? Take the Allahabad High Court, for instance—its live-streaming links don't work. Not every reporter can physically sit in the courtroom to report proceedings. When matters are being reported live by those physically present, how fair is it to deny access to virtual links? What exactly is being protected here—or rather, who is being protected? Leaders and authorities often talk about “Digital India”, yet they struggle to maintain the systems that are already in place. Why can't the Allahabad High Court provide virtual court access to the press? When matters are already being reported, why not make it easier for distant reporters, to access proceedings remotely?
