Lo Statuto di Roma della Corte Penale Internazionale all'articolo 8, stabilisce che attaccare intenzionalmente personale, installazioni, materiali, unità o veicoli partecipanti a una missione di assistenza umanitaria, se non sono obiettivi militari, è un crimine di guerra.

L'attacco a un convoglio umanitario rappresenta una grave violazione del diritto internazionale umanitario (DIU). Questa affermazione non è un'opinione politica, ma un principio giuridico ben consolidato, basato su trattati internazionali e sul diritto consuetudinario.

Attacking a humanitarian convoy is a grave violation of international humanitarian law (IHL). This is not a political opinion, but a well-established legal principle based on international treaties and customary law.

Article 8 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court states that intentionally directing attacks against personnel, installations, material, units, or vehicles involved in a humanitarian assistance, as long as they are entitled to that protection, is a war crime.
