I'm not entirely surprised by Salah's sharp decline. People attribute it to age, but that's a reductive analysis. Beneath the surface, there's a glaring deficiency that's been masked by his exceptional speed. Salah isn't as technically gifted as most world class players, but speed of execution sets him apart. Without the advantage of speed, that flaw is obvious. The unrefined version of Messi.
