@racerkuvira @doodoodadi2 It isn't. The fact that we see it move at all in that clip shows that it isn't. Natural lightning moves at >91,667 meters/second irl. Thats more than 90× the speed of the fastest bullets. It is absurd levels of inperceptable. From our perspective it would be basically teleporting

@racerkuvira @doodoodadi2 Which is orders of magnitude faster than a bullet which are (famously) undodgeable. Its a lot easy to just accept the fact that lightning in atla is subsonic and reactable than it is to do the mental gymnastics that Zuko, Katara, Aang, and Iroh are all as fast as the Flash.

@racerkuvira @doodoodadi2 Yeah this is so clutch because people dont realize that lightning in atla doesnt follow real-life rules. "Lightning speed scaling" in atla is nonsense. People don't understand that if lightning in atla worked like it did IRL it would move at at least 330 times the speed of sound.

@doodoodadi2 @racerkuvira Jeong Jeong and Iroh both have insane feats during the comet too. Hes elite but hes not leagues above the other top firebenders (especially not iroh who is considered near-equal to ozai in-universe). Kuvira and ozai are comparable in their proficiency in their respective elements

@racerkuvira -where every firebender on earth got a ~2x power boost he was still THE guy. His lightning bending against zuko after the eclipse was not only more destructive to the area but faster than azula during the comet. His daughter at ~200% power isnt equal to him when he got his back

Prime toph, tenzin, and katara, all have a shot 1on1. An avatar with 3/4 is doing that shit easy. there are also other ways to learn air

If the new avatar travels to the earth kingdom in, lets say 18 AG. They have 62 years left until ba sing se falls.

If aang died during the comet, the new avatar would be born on 1 AG. That gives that avatar 40 years to grow up.

It took decades worth of raids to even capture Hama and her friends. And then katara survived 100 years later. A new avatar would only need to survive there until like 17 AG.

Nothing about there actions would change if aang actually dies. It would still take them a century to wipe out the southern water benders which is PLENTY of time.
