Trans people are actively under attack, today, in large sections of the country. Your rights are not under threat. Nobody's trying to take away your children, or annul your marriage. You've never had to worry about where and whether you're allowed to pee in the state you live in. You probably don't have to carry a copy of your birth certificate with you. You've probably never purchased mace, or had to buy a handgun for legitimate self defense. You get to live in the Normative State, rather than the Prerogative State. And that's fine. I'm glad you are who you are, and that you get to live your truth, as the person you were born as. But you have no dog in this. Nothing to lose. So, you're the wrong person to be discussing the value of visibility.

We're far past the point where this "visibility" nonsense is offering any net value to anyone. Every performative post like these chip away at any goodwill saved from doing good work. Just ship code people like without the identity stickers! That's the best form of visibility.
