Familiar faces indeed!

Over the next couple of weeks, 11 different high school track and field meets will take place around the state and the region, giving Kansas athletes plenty of opportunities to compete ahead of the outdoor season. This weekend was originally supposed to kick the 2025 campaign off, but impending winter weather postponed the Winter Classic at Hy-Vee Arena to next month. Where are you competing this indoor season? 👀

Due to the projected weather for state cross country, times have been adjusted.

If you needed a reminder that race results are the smallest part of cross country... Anica Gannon, a senior at Wahoo, chose to compete at State on Friday despite unexpectedly losing her mother, Amy Gannon-Warren, earlier this week. She was one of only four girls on the Wahoo squad; six competitors per team are allowed in Class C and the first four count towards team scores. Wahoo finished 8th out of 15. When given the option to not race, she declined. “I’m going to run for my mom, I’m not going to disappoint her.” She ran a 22:57, a PR. Please send up prayers to Anica and her family.

Aidan’s huge PR sees him become the third Andover runner ever to dip below 16 flat and improve his standing on our list to 3rd!

Top 10 gets shaken up again! For the third time this year Maddy lowers her school record and Jordyn dips below Maddy’s previous record to strengthen her hold on 2nd all time!
