Walked Winnipeg’s north side this evening with Morgan’s Warriors. Named after Morgan Harris, a 39 year old mother of five from Long Plain First Nation who was murdered by Jeremy Skibicki- a serial killer who targeted Native women and took at least four lives in 2022. He dumped their bodies in the trash.
The search for Morgan’s remains and Marcedes Myran, another young victim, begins December 2 supported by the Province of Manitoba and led by the families of the stolen sisters.
Melissa Robinson started the outreach in honour of her cousin Morgan after Skibicki’s trial wrapped up earlier this year. They do this work four nights a week with a vision of helping to keep the streets safe and creating relationships with those struggling to survive. Winnipeg is said to be the epicentre of the genocide of MMIWG in Canada.
Morgan’s daughter Elle also participates in the patrols and wants to continue helping the vulnerable in honour of her mother.

I want to thank Melissa Robinson, cousin to the late Morgan Harris, founder of Morgan’s Warriors and Morgan’s daughter Elle for welcoming me into their family. Soon they will begin the process of searching for Morgan’s remains in the Prairie Green Landfill.
In the heart of Winnipeg, where winter winds whip across the prairie city, two warrior women rise with unstoppable determination burning in their hearts. They are descendants of generations of strong Indigenous women, their spirits forged in both tradition and tragedy, their strength drawn from the deepest wells of love and grief.
These sisters of justice move through the city streets like guardians, their eyes sharp and knowing. Where others might turn away, they look deeper. Their search for justice for Morgan has transformed into a broader mission of protection and advocacy for all vulnerable people in their community. Their footsteps trace paths through the North End, down Main Street, through every shadow where danger might lurk.
When they speak of Morgan, their voices carry both tenderness and steel. In their faces, you can see the echo of their relative - in a gentle smile or full bodied laughs, in the set of their jaw, in eyes that hold both sorrow and fierce determination. They’ve taken their private pain and transformed it into a public battle cry, refusing to let Morgan’s story fade into statistics.
Their most remarkable quality is how they’ve kept their hearts open despite everything they’ve seen and endured. Their capacity for joy hasn’t been diminished by their mission - if anything, it fuels them. They fight so fiercely precisely because they love so deeply.
In their relentless pursuit of justice, they’ve become more than advocates - they’ve become symbols of hope, resilience, and the unbreakable spirit of Indigenous women. Their work honors not only Morgan’s memory but all the missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls whose stories cry out for justice. Through their unwavering dedication, they remind us that warrior women still walk among us, their modern battles fought not with arrows but with courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to protecting their community.

@JustinTrudeau If you are upset about violence why have you not made a public statement about the violent attack on the Inuk twin brothers Joshua and Garnet Papigatuk?
Are you trying to give PP your seat?

@KonstantinKisin This makes me shudder. It feels like a luddites manifesto.
There are too many people and too few resources both natural and material to be so self centred .

For my British and European friends who are "shocked" and "surprised", here are 10 reasons you didn't see this coming.
Read this short post and then read the replies from our American friends who will confirm what I'm saying.
1. Americans love their country and want it to be the best in the world. America is a nation of people who conquered a continent. They love strength. They love winning. Any leader who appeals to that has an automatic advantage.
2. Unlike Europeans, Americans have not accepted managed decline. They don't have Net Zero here, they believe in producing their own energy and making it as cheap as possible because they know that their prosperity depends on it.
3. Prices for most basic goods in the US have increased rapidly and are sky high. What the official statistics say about inflation and the reality of people's lives are not the same.
4. Unlike you, Americans do not believe in socialism. They believe in meritocracy. They don't care about the super rich being super rich because they know that they live in a country where being super rich is available to anyone with the talent and drive to make it. They don't resent success, they celebrate it.
5. Americans are the most pro-immigration people in the world. Read that again. Seriously, read it again. Americans love an immigrant success story. They want more talented immigrants to come to America. But they refuse to accept people coming illegally. They believe in having a border.
6. Americans are sensitive about racial issues and their country's imperfect history. They believe that those who are disadvantaged by the circumstances of their birth should be given the opportunity to succeed. What they reject, however, is the idea that in order to address the errors of the past new errors must be made. DEI is racist. They know it and they reject it precisely because they are not racist.
7. Americans are the most philosemitic nation on earth. October 7 and the pro-Hamas left's reaction shocked them to their very core because, among other things, they remember what 9/11 was like and they know jihad when they see it.
8. Americans are extremely practical people. They care about what works, not what sounds good. In Europe, we produce great writers and intellectuals. In America they produce (and attract) great engineers, businessmen and investors. Because of this, they care less about Trump's rhetoric than you do and more about his policies than you do.
9. Americans are deeply optimistic people. They hate negativity. The woke view of American history as a series of evils for which they must eternally apologise is utterly abhorrent to them. They believe in moving forward together, not endlessly obsessing about the past.
10. America is a country whose founding story is one of resistance to government overreach. They loathe unnecessary restrictions, regulations and control. They understand that freedom comes with the price of self-reliance and they pay it gladly.

@JustinTrudeau Why do you feel the need to congratulate him? A simple statement like “ Canada is prepared to negotiate with any US president” would make you look less disingenuous- unless you are sincerely congratulating him in which case ew!
