@oh_ye_baat_hain @IaclaudeClaude @AirGap_it @VitalikButerin The standard is actively used by multiple projects like @MetaMask, @AirGap_it, @KeystoneWallet and others. It says it was moved to "Stagnant" because of inactivity. I'm not sure what is missing to get it finalised, but it's still actively used and not deprecated or anything.
English

@IaclaudeClaude @AirGap_it I doubt @VitalikButerin would even read this. But tagging him, since you said it. But, the developers are the one who is responsible here imo.
English

@WalletConnect Why was the WCT Airdrop Registration for season 1 closed early?
English

@andreujuanc @AirGap_it We don’t have that yet, but there is now a setting to say that your device is an offline device. The idea is that we’ll add features like you suggested to make the Vault more strict and prevent user errors.
English

@AirGap_it Would be nice if the settings bit of that list were "on" the app would not open.
English

@claudebarde @tezosnoob The feeling is mutual! It was great to hang out and talk about non-work related things after years of online collaborations. See you again soon!
English

@tezosnoob Meeting @AndreasGassmann in person after collaborating online for 2 years was one of my most memorable moments at TezDev 😊
English

If you attended TEZ/DEV in Paris, what was the most memorable thing you saw or heard there? Your biggest take-away? #Tezoshelp #Tezos

@Dr_SpireX @AirGap_it AirGap Vault already supports multisig (BTC) by using other watch-only apps like BlueWallet or Sparrow. There are a few security relevant features missing, eg. you cannot add pubkeys of co-signers, so you cannot verify the change address. We'll try to add support for that soon.
English

@nk1tz @bettyvschmartz @nvk Wouldn't that affect the security / randomness of the shares? Maybe it's negligible, but I'd be hesitant to do something like this without being certain that it doesn't affect the security of the scheme.
English

@AndreasGassmann @bettyvschmartz @nvk Or the feature can be implemented such that ABC are generated repeatedly until they satisfy the following condition: they are of opposite “polarity” or “weight” to X (if X has more 1’s than zero’s ABC should have more 0’s than 1’s). Then no guessing required at the end.
English

🤯 Is it possible to create a 2 of 3 backup scheme for a single bip39 seed for #Bitcoin without the downsides of Multisig and Shamir?
This thread explores how SeedXor can be used to achieve a 2 of 3 seed backup scheme while maximizing plausible deniability properties.
🧵:
English

@bettyvschmartz @nk1tz @nvk Regarding ordering: The output is always 2 mnemonics. One of which is the original mnemonic, the other one the missing share. So the user can simply try both mnemonics, or he could write down the fingerprint of the original mnemonic (which would lose plausible deniability).
English

@nk1tz @nvk That's a shame. Would be very cool as feature on the Coldcard, especially as there is a reference implementation in Python.
I agree the ordering is a problem. If one has to number seeds it destroys deniability. Hopefully the limitations can be resolved.

So, A little while ago I found @AirGap_it and thought I'd give it a try as a hardware wallet solution.
Everytime I used it, I grew more to love it.
And here's why you should too 🧵
English

@purplezomb1e @inevitable360 We have a new feature planned that goes into that direction. It should be ready soonish, stay tuned :)
English

@AndreasGassmann @inevitable360 there is one thing I did add to my Vault thst might be a nice option for those adding it to an offline device. I've changed the manifest file to allow the Vault to be added as a launcher to replace the default one.
This locks the device down so only the Vault can use it
English

@purplezomb1e @inevitable360 Yeah, just takes one mention of the “Fox Wallet” and they go wild 🤷♂️
English

@purplezomb1e @inevitable360 AirGap Vault works together with MetaMask, so you should be able to manage your Polygon NFTs and tokens in MetaMask and keep your key securely in AirGap Vault
English

@AndreasGassmann @inevitable360 that's awesome news.
I'm looking at adding support for Polygon NFTs and tokens... but I think Doge would be a great addition for AirGap
English

@purplezomb1e @inevitable360 Thanks for the kind words about our project! AirGap is built in a modular way and it’s quite simple to add new coins. However, we are currently working on a plugin system that will make it even easier and more secure! Happy to chat with anyone who’d like to help add new coins!
English

@inevitable360 I would love to pick your brain on this at some point as there's no doge support currently for this, but it's open source so could be beneficial to some like me holding doge
English

@Nick23338 @trippledutch @AirGap_it We have a section about that in our docs: support.airgap.it/airgap-vault/s… (navigate to iOS or Android)
English

@trippledutch @AirGap_it Awesome thread thanks. How do you install the Airgap vault on the second phone that has neven been online?
English

So @AirGap_it is going to be the preferred hardware wallet that allows us to safely connect our $MNW masternodes’ metamask using a QR-code. I tested this with the safest possible dual-phone configuration. A short 🧵
English

@andreujuanc @AirGap_it You can always change your selection in the settings. But maybe a back button would be nice there.
English

@AndreasGassmann @AirGap_it If I click on offline I cannot go back to the previous screen if I changed my mind.

English

@andreujuanc @AirGap_it Sometimes using an incognito window helps as well.
English

@AirGap_it Please don't use medium. It was really hard to read the articule. Had to create a throw away account because otherwise it won't let me in.
XOXO
English

@andreujuanc @AirGap_it @klickdotdev @bakinglibertez @moneyevery3days AirGap migrated away from cordova a long time ago, it is now using @capacitorjs. Together with @Ionicframework and @angular, the stack we use is well maintained and steadily improving.
English

@AirGap_it @klickdotdev @bakinglibertez @moneyevery3days Wen airgap vault rebuild to newer stack? it's using cordova, and at somepoint it wont be feasible to keep working on that stack.
Flutter? React Native?
English

@EthCLWP @djangobits @lukeisontheroad @MetaMask @ConsenSys @AirGap_it @ellipal @KeystoneWallet @WalletConnect @WalletScrutiny On Android you can update the app using an SD card or USB stick, no WIFI required.
We looked into producing our own device, but it is quite difficult to create a secure device. Also, one of the advantages of AirGap is that you are not locked to a specific vendor or device.
English

@djangobits @AndreasGassmann @lukeisontheroad @MetaMask @ConsenSys @AirGap_it @ellipal @KeystoneWallet @WalletConnect @WalletScrutiny Airgap-it should supply a device because any phone that can connect to the air interface or a network layer is not air gapped even if it is it in Airplane Mode because you’ll have to switch it out of Airplane Mode to update the app!
English

Gain an additional layer of security when using 🦊 Mobile by connecting it with a QR based cold wallet like @AirGap_it🚀
Try it now! twitter.com/AirGap_it/stat…
English

@EthCLWP @lukeisontheroad @MetaMask @ConsenSys @AirGap_it @ellipal @KeystoneWallet @WalletConnect @WalletScrutiny No problem, thanks for giving our project a chance. We have made a blogpost highlighting the differences of open and closed source if you are interested: medium.com/airgap-it/adva…. If you decide to give our wallet a try, let us know what you think and what we can do better!
English

@AndreasGassmann @lukeisontheroad @MetaMask @ConsenSys @AirGap_it @ellipal @KeystoneWallet @WalletConnect @WalletScrutiny I think you make fair points. And I’m sorry if I came on a bit hard with you guys. But the Ellipal wallet is good. I agree the closed side of it may be problematic but they say it helps protect the system. If your app is free, I didn’t realise that and fair dos that’s pretty cool
