@pearlythingz It's also a great lesson for the parents, especially the father. His boundaries for his family were very clear, he didn't negotiate or tell his son he could bring whatever lifestyle into the family! He just lets him go and waits until he's ready to join the family again.

The prodigal son was a warning for the children not the parents. Showing that by being disobedient, you will be punished greatly until you lose everything, and only by having a righteous person willing to forgive you after you hit rock bottom can you come back out.
The prodigal son screwed over his family and his parents and squandered everything given to him and had to go back home with his head held low and beg acknowledge his wrong doings.
Nala is a millionaire and famous...she isn't the prodigal son.

@Moff_Unplugged Yes, totally! A lot of Christian parents tell their kids to behave or dress a certain way because the "church" wants it that way. I'm all for modesty as a Christian dad, but own it and say the real reason. Be. A. Man.

My issue w/ trads is the constant appeal to God/scripture when talking about modesty, femininity, etc.

This video is making the rounds on X. I thought it would make a good teaching opportunity for my daughters. I sat my 11- and 10-year-old daughters down and had them watch a bit of it. I asked what they thought. Without any prompting from me, they both said: 'They are immodest and acting crazy.' I got to talk with my daughters about modest dress and modest behavior. The difference between having fun and being loud and brash. Now, this video is tame compared to a lot out there, but it still shows how culturally, immodest dress and behavior are normalized. Now you don't have to become a prairie muffin and L.A.R.P. in the opposite direction either. The answer is a gentile and quite spirit that scripture says God finds precious.

I think I finally found a scenario that women can comprehend the gravity of false accusations that men have to deal with. Imagine you have children (if you don’t already) one of your acquaintances makes up a rumor that you physically abuse your kids, your neglectful, malnourish them, and possibly even sexually abuse them as well. This person has zero evidence. You know it’s not true, but word gets out and now CPS and police is involved. People now assume because the police are investigating (doing their job) that you’re guilty. The whole community now sees you as the lady who abuses her children and thinks you’re the scum of the earth. This is essentially what happens when a man is falsely accused of rape.
