There were senior devs involved in outages
Why wouldn’t a senior person review code going into prod? Especially high risk code?
I feel like these are just normal standards for most dev teams ?
And a company as large as Amazon just bypasses them?

Amazon is holding a mandatory meeting about AI breaking its systems. The official framing is "part of normal business." The briefing note describes a trend of incidents with "high blast radius" caused by "Gen-AI assisted changes" for which "best practices and safeguards are not yet fully established." Translation to human language: we gave AI to engineers and things keep breaking? The response for now? Junior and mid-level engineers can no longer push AI-assisted code without a senior signing off. AWS spent 13 hours recovering after its own AI coding tool, asked to make some changes, decided instead to delete and recreate the environment (the software equivalent of fixing a leaky tap by knocking down the wall). Amazon called that an "extremely limited event" (the affected tool served customers in mainland China).

Yesterday’s update I added images to artists on the database and gave the first 5 artists images a place, so now there’s a 1st to 5th place artist ranking based on user votes

Way back when dude first took over this platform I argued people UNDER THE TABLE that claims of wanting fairness, openness, transparency, anti-bias that all he really wanted is control. They called me a hater. Now here we are. Same reason I'm not surprised 1 bit about the announcements coming out of the Dept of Ed that are going to DECIMATE our nursing pipeline for decades. I know what their bigger play is - clear as day from day 0.
