@Andrevin20 @InezFeltscher Germany and Switzerland have public-private hybrid systems that work well. A problem US will have is med providers already among highest paid in world and that’s not changing; overall expenditures always proportional to gdp- we have highest, will be most expensive.

Yes. Insurance (risk based protection against future unknowable incidents) is not designed to cover things that have already happened and are certain to incur costs. Yes, this was a problem, but not one that can be solved by insurance. This is like signing up for car insurance the day after you crash and expecting them to pay out.

@InezFeltscher No, we couldn't. Not if we had any kind of pre-existing condition. Sometimes couldn't even get ANY insurance.

ICE in airports sounds great, I often find myself wishing someone would shoot me in the head when I'm waiting in line at security.

@Andrevin20 @frakblurg @WhiteySwolz @InezFeltscher In a free market the price (minus inflation) can't go up forever, either costs will be reduced, quality will increase or profits will shrink. When Obamacare eliminated competition it allowed the insurance companies to screw us without us being able to do anything about it

@InezFeltscher At least in the end of one conversation, she finally told the truth. She doesn't care about any of the answers; she just wants others to pay for what she wants.

Catastrophic insurance is actually what “insurance” is supposed to mean. Routine costs (doc visits, occasional urgent care, prescriptions, the sort of stuff that people predictably use) were paid in cash - and were cheaper because of it. INSURANCE was supposed to be for unpredictable costs, like getting cancer or hit by a bus. And catastrophic insurance was fantastic for that purpose without breaking the bank. “Insurance” for predictable, routine costs that most people incur is just called “paying overhead on top of expenses,” which is why most people carry accident insurance but not maintenance insurance on their cars. It wasn’t consumers who were stupid.

@InezFeltscher Catastrophic insurance basically isn't insurance. That's why it was effectively banned. Most consumers don't understand how it would work and therefore it's not fit to sell.

@woods_jus @InezFeltscher That’s deep bro. Can you point to the health care system of another country we should emulate?

@Andrevin20 @InezFeltscher Insurance is insurance. It fundamentally breaks down if you force it to cover broader events without appropriate increases in premiums.

@InezFeltscher @charlescwcooke True! I once had a very affordable catastrophic care policy. Thanks to the ACA that policy is no longer available. The policies offered to me now are far more expensive. The Affordable Care Act failed me miserably. Like it did everyone else.

@InezFeltscher The government is not great at fixing the problems the government created. Maybe we try a free market now?

@InezFeltscher The biggest issue with modern health insurance is that’s it’s moved well beyond what insurance is designed for. Health insurance is now like if auto insurance paid for oil changes and car washes, and the guy with 3 DWIs by law pays same premium as the perfect driver.

@WhiteySwolz @InezFeltscher I pay $19k per year, with a deductible in the mid teens, for two people. Obamacare is the worst scam ever. It puts Somali Day Care fraud to shame.

@frakblurg @WhiteySwolz @InezFeltscher That assumes that prices would've always increased which isn't a solid assumption in a free market. Higher profits brings competition. But before the competition could come obamacare banned it

For shits and giggles, I decided to see just how hard it would be to replace my birth certificate, Social Security card, AND my marriage license, since Democrats think women are too stupid to figure it out. Here's how it went: 1. Birth certificate: Contacted the health department of the county where I was born. They OVERNIGHTED a certified copy to me the next day - total cost, $14. 2. SS Card: Contacted Social Security on their site. They asked if I was sure I needed the card, since I 'won't likely be asked for it.' I went ahead and got it - took five business days to arrive - total cost, $0. 3. Marriage License: Went to the 'vital docs' site of the county where we were hitched. Filled everything out online, arrived in three days - total cost, $5. It cost less than $20 to obtain all three certified/legal documents, and it took less than five business days to receive them. Note: if I had lived where I was born or married, it would have been a day. Tops. Anyone telling you this is too hard or unfair is lying and hiding the real reason they want to stop Voter ID. I know you guys knew that already... lol

@Marcia74192580 @PolitiBunny Guess what? Men have to register with the military when they turn 18. I wouldn’t complain. And you DO NOT have to change your name after you marry; it’s optional.

@KrassenteinFags @NoOne23131214 @JoePostingg You’re right, I am upset. But then I think about a certain someone getting sniped by a granola Mormon guy who was into trans women, and then I laugh again…
