Epic Games wants to "establish more opportunities to compete in different ways in Competitive Fortnite" The Arenas tournament mode differs from Ranked mode. Not wildly different, but it uses the round-robin format in its purest form while amping up the mode's competitive nature. It's strongly advised to hit Elite rank or higher if you'd like to participate in these upcoming tournaments.

also, not all rewards are being granted in time, if you're entering specific's rank match. This is also being looked into and will be fixed soon-ish. Rewards have a delay to get granted, if you dont want to wait - play around 6 games on the rank.
