@WavyCreative_ Gotcha! You can take an offset position from your camera (so it is close to your character), and plug that into a sphere mask to get the radar look. This is all done in a post process material, so it has to be added to a post process volume in your project, not a specific object.
English

@AndrewFOAD Okay, but how Can you make it come from the Player? So where is the Material Applied to?
English

Ideating a scanning effect in #UEFN. Can't use this against other players, but can be used with custom NPC and other meshes. #FortniteCreative
English

@WavyCreative_ Go into the "rendering" tab in the details panel of the mesh you want to affect and check "render customDepth pass." In your post process material you can use "scene texture:customdepth" to mask your effect.

@AndrewFOAD How Can you Display a Material on surfaces Like This? (Tutorial?)
English

@macilvoyfn @vz_creates @olivier_101 These are manually set coordinates, so you can calculate the angle and distance of each point of interest in relation to the player position. They couldn’t be dynamic without verse but with material block it’s possible!
English

This was a fun one! I made a navigational UI for highlighting points of interest all in the material (no verse in sight) in #UEFN. #FortniteCreative

@AndrewFOAD Super clean! Love how smooth the UI feels, all in the material too?
English

@jasperlnz Great question! Yes right now the WP is set. And you are right, in theory with verse and material block, this could be updated. Looking forward to updating as this develops.
English

@AndrewFOAD Crazy work, question: Is the WP set or could the props be moved and it still works?
English

Working on a WPO shader where collectables always face the player and do a fun little dance. Heavily inspired by the dancing coins in Mario Wonder. #UEFN #FortniteCreative

@PaxVl Break down of how I did it. If anyone has suggestions to lighten it up a bit I am all ears.

English

@t3ctor Nope! Using the offset location of the camera to make a sphere mask to lerp the colors and drive world position offset.
