@HFrcs Pragmatic conversation between manager and registrar? Or manager and consultant? Personally I would appreciate it if the registrar rang me again in 10 minutes rather than immediately escalating. Can we not be given the benefit of the doubt at a 3am.....!!!???

You’re oncall overnight as the consultant and your junior registrar rings you at 3am to say there’s a sick 13 year old with a perforated appendicitis. You refuse to come in even after the reg says they’ve never done an appendicectomy before. What would you expect your reg to do?
