I gave it a go on @expensify codebase and the difference for their Hermes bundle (hbc) was 4.36%. That's 1,39 MB smaller APK, which is likely slightly faster to load and execute (I don't have the benchmarks for runtime though)

These 2 settings are necessary in bare React Native apps if you want: • three-shake 𝙿𝚕𝚊𝚝𝚏𝚘𝚛𝚖.𝙾𝚂 and 𝙿𝚕𝚊𝚝𝚏𝚘𝚛𝚖.𝚜𝚎𝚕𝚎𝚌𝚝 • up to -15% JS bundle size • up to -5% Hermes bytecode size (affects TTI) If you use @expo you're safe – platform shaking works well

you can seamlessly create a @supabase database from your phone using the @v0 iOS app.

@rickyfm I think there are valid use cases, but agree it's annoying. I just changed Expensify's because: 1. We have to lock node versions down due to internal controls 2. Issues with npm install on GitHub runners and are trying to fix with the latest .nvmrc makes it easy to auto-switch

pro-tip: if you see this in package.json, delete it
