I’ve seen the messages flooding in over the Conservatives not winning Gorton & Denton. Let’s be clear — this was never a Conservative seat, so the noise means very little. What does matter is this: Charlotte went on every platform and consistently made one thing clear — under Kemi Badenoch, the Conservative Party is changing. That’s how renewal starts. That’s how trust is rebuilt. That’s how victories are prepared. We are rebuilding. We are listening. And we will win back the country’s confidence. Thank you Charlotte. Thank you Kemi. Thank you to every Conservative member and supporter. Good day, Manchester 🇬🇧

@LizWebsterSBF The EU is as tied economically, legally and militarily to the US and is trying everything to not rock the boat.

🇬🇧 Britain can’t pretend #Venezuela has nothing to do with us. 🇺🇸 The US attack on Venezuela 🇻🇪 is not just an American story. It’s the logical endpoint of the political direction the UK has chosen since Brexit. A UK that has unhooked itself from European law has quietly repositioned itself as 🇺🇸 junior partner, not an independent power. And every major UK 🇬🇧 political faction enabled this. Let’s be clear 👇 Nigel Farage openly idolises Trump. Conservative Party aligned Britain with US foreign policy, trade policy and deregulation after Brexit. And Keir Starmer has not broken from that alignment, he has accelerated/normalised it. Brexit removed the UK from: • EU foreign policy coordination • EU legal restraints • Collective diplomatic brakes on military escalation What replaced them? A scramble for US favour. That’s why Britain now: • Supports US-led sanctions without scrutiny • Mirrors US trade deregulation • Refuses to re-anchor in EU law or standards • Stays silent when executive war becomes normal This is the real “Global Britain”. Not sovereignty but subordination. Farage sold Brexit as freedom. The Tories used it for deregulation and alignment with US power. 🔴 Starmer is now managing the consequences while refusing to challenge the underlying direction. And here’s the uncomfortable truth: A UK 🇬🇧 tied economically, legally and militarily to the US cannot oppose US wars without threatening its own post-Brexit settlement. So Britain 🇬🇧 stays quiet. Again. No red lines. No condemnation. No insistence on international law. Just a political class that backs Trump in practice, even when they criticise him in public. This is why Brexit matters. This is why foreign policy matters. This is why law matters. When you detach a country from shared legal systems, you don’t get freedom. You get exposure. And ordinary people pay the price 👉at home and abroad.

🚨 🆘 This is not a drill. The US 🇺🇸 has attacked Venezuela 🇻🇪 Overnight, explosions hit Caracas after US aircraft struck Venezuelan military targets. Power outages followed. Airspace has been closed. The country is now under a declared state of external disturbance. Donald Trump claims the US has captured President Nicolás Maduro and flown him out of the country. Let that sink in. This is open regime change by force. Trump announced the strikes on Truth Social and plans a press conference at Mar-a-Lago 🤡 turning war into political theatre. The US had already imposed a total blockade on Venezuelan oil and built up massive naval forces in the Caribbean, including an aircraft carrier. This escalation was deliberate and long prepared. And notice the pattern: • Economic strangulation • Naval blockade • “Terrorist state” designation • Military strikes • Claims of liberation We’ve seen this script before 👉Iraq. Libya. Syria. Each time the result is: • State collapse • Civilian deaths • Regional instability • Long-term suffering/not democracy The Trump administration has already admitted to dozens of US strikes on boats in the region, killing over 100 people. This is not restraint. This is violence normalised. Venezuela has called its supporters into the streets. Colombia’s president Gustavo Petro has expressed “deep concern”. Cuba has condemned the attack as imperial aggression. And here’s the part everyone should be alarmed by 👇 There is: ❌ No UN mandate ❌ No congressional declaration of war ❌ No democratic consent This is executive war by decree. A US president deciding - alone - to overthrow another government, live-posting it like a campaign stunt. If this can be done to Venezuela, it can be done anywhere. And don’t kid yourself that this is about democracy or human rights. This is about resources, control, and geopolitical dominance ☠️ with ordinary people paying the price. War is being made normal again. Law is being bypassed. And propaganda is being laundered through social media. Pay attention 🆘 once this becomes routine, there is no brake left.

@LizWebsterSBF Biden was POTUS for the majority of the time since leaving EU. A period where the EU was scrambling for US approval and favour as well. Not much opposition for tying the UK closer to Biden’s US.

@LizWebsterSBF This is normally a very sensible account but this is a very bad take on this. Starmer's response has been pretty much instep with VdL and Kallas' response (taken by surprise, not saying anything and worried about nationals)

Today, Labour announced the first rail fare freeze in 30 years. Many families in Poole are still struggling with the cost of living crisis - this is a step in the right direction. The freeze shows what our railways look like in public hands.

Labour’s Rail Plan for Britain 🇬🇧 🚝 1. End the strikes ✅ 2. Deliver record investments ✅ 3. Set Up Great British Railways ✅ And our next stop is: freezing fares After 30 years of ticket inflation, Labour’s putting cash back where it belongs: with passengers. All aboard!🚂

How many of the Tory & Lib Dem peers who voted against decent rights at work have been on a zero hours contract? Or sacked unfairly. Or struggled to pay bills because they didn’t get sick pay? It’s easy to vote against rights for workers when you don’t have skin in the game.

The Tories want you to believe that to encourage young people to take up an apprenticeship, you have to kick universities. You don’t. You can invest more and boost further education without talking down young people’s aspirations to go to university. That’s Labour’s approach.

@LizWebsterSBF Um bonuses are taxable like any other income so deregulated bonuses are a win for everyone. Employers can attract talent by offering attractive bonuses, employees get bigger taxes and the exchequer gets additional tax from the bonus.

➡️ City bankers celebrating loosened bonus rules 👉 deregulation and bigger bonuses for the few, while the productive economy collapses and taxes rise for the many. A perfect snapshot of Brexit Britain’s inverted priorities: 🏚️ Farms and builders go bust. 💰 Speculators get richer. Who took back control?

Anybody noticed that when Keir Starmer said he would recognise Palestine as a state. People said he was rewarding Hamas. Well forgive me for saying it. TODAY ISRAEL & HAMAS SIGNED A PEACE TREATY. Keir applied pressure on to Israel and that pressure has worked. LEADERSHIP 👋👋

🚄 Brexit means Britain’s left off the map and cut off. The EU is launching a Europe-wide high-speed rail network: 49,400 km linking every capital and major city at 250–350 km/h. It’s the future of green travel and connection. And we’re not on it thanks to Brexit #Brexit #HSR #Europe #Rejoin euronews.com/travel/2025/10…

You weren’t fit to be Prime Minister. Your revolting support for Tommy Robinson just underlines that. Time for Kemi Badenoch to find the guts to chuck you out.
Liz Truss@trussliz

It's time to stop your pathetic attempts at cancellation @bphillipsonMP. Why aren't you focussed on actually dealing with the rape gangs? As for the economy, every single economic indicator is worse now than it was when I was Prime Minister - the gilt yield, debt, growth and unemployment. I know you're desperate because you're losing to Lucy Powell - but this is pitiful.
