@Andrew_Getty Mav - looking regal as ever while supervising.

@JlewTurf This is what it looks like when it’s sprayed on. It’s probably 0.25” thick. It would plug up the reels pretty quick. The glue/tackifier makes things sticky. Even if we just try to brush or blow the mulch off, we still have to wash the surface before we can mow.

English

@Andrew_Getty How thick of a cover is this? Could you run a mower w buckets over it to do the pickup?
English

@wmarchand17 It does insulate, retain moisture, and protect from desiccation. It does not protect from snow mold unfortunately.
English

@Andrew_Getty Does this protect against snow mold/insulate the green?
English

@iborngenest The Prairie Club has mulched greens in the winter since 2010. The greens are T1/Alpha creeping bentgrass.
English

@Andrew_Getty Since how long are you using Hydromulch ? And What kid of grass do you have on your greens? TKS ⛳️⛳️
English

@bonkersforiowa We have large greens, so it takes 4-8 hours of washing depending on size, wind direction, and how much wind blown sand has accumulated on the green. Once the mulch is washed off, we let it dry and then scoop it up with shovels.
English

@Andrew_Getty How long does it take you to clean off the Hydro mulch? Does it make a big mess when you do it?
English

@schrieferranch I’d love to check out Teddy Roosevelt National Park and Medora someday
English

@Andrew_Getty @Turf4life Go try Bully Pulpit and Hawktree sometime…amazing courses. I haven’t been to Williston yet, so I’ll have to give that one a try
English

@schrieferranch I have not, but I know @Turf4life does a great job at the Links of ND
English

@schrieferranch Thank you sir. The sandhills are an incredible place
English

@Andrew_Getty That course looks awesome even when its brown
English

@cowbroker Thankfully we have deep “frost free” irrigation lines that allow us to water from some hydrants during the winter months.
English

@Andrew_Getty You have to worry about much grass damage if it decides to get seriously cold for a few days?
English

@cowbroker Normally we’re really cold tolerant. This year could be a little different as the grass has started to green up a bit during some of these warm spells. The bigger worry is just the crown of the plant becoming too dry and subject to death from desiccation.

Whether you’ve scored a tee time at the elusive Sand Hills Golf Club, need a break from cross-country roadtripping on I-80, or just want to visit some honor-box nine-hole courses, the Nebraska Sandhills has it all.

@Andrew_Getty @DevinWanzor Phenomenal work….all the extra steps in prepping, protecting, and preparing to peak the courses through the hot days of summer….well done!
English

@DevinWanzor Yes, but we check on him once a week or so. He’s usually excited when we wash the covers off in the spring
English

@Andrew_Getty @LeibhartDalton @huskershally @theprairieclub So it looks like a guy got buried in hydro mulch and only his hand was left sticking out.
Is that a normal part of the process?
English

@Goosethcc @LeibhartDalton @huskershally @theprairieclub For us, it’s the best way to prevent winter kill on the bentgrass greens. The mulch helps hold some moisture in and keeps some wind out.
English

@Andrew_Getty @LeibhartDalton @huskershally @theprairieclub What is your goal or layman term Why do you hydromulch ?
