Lots of rumors and chatter around Johnson County lowa on a new 18 hole private golf club. I connected with Nate Kaeding who is part of a small group spearheading the project to shed light on what's real and to dispel several rumors. So here it goes...... 🧵🧵Thread below..

And in the most important development of the offseason, she said yes. A challenging, but extremely rewarding offseason all wrapped up.

I can’t wait for Jordan Spieth to show some flashes at Quail Hollow so that I can convince myself that he’s completing the Grand Slam next week

Sand Hills has an amazing opening hole, but the 18th hole is just as good. Finishing up the hill with Ben’s porch in the background. The blowout bunker to the left is absolutely massive.

@chompchomp15 I haven’t experienced the OG Road hall so I cannot adequately opine. But number 10 is absolutely incredible.

@RadRural If there were ever a road hole that deserves to be in the conversation with the OG road hole, I’ll have that conversation.

Another from Shoreacres where after the turn, you hit an absolutely phenomenal road hole. And walk to the next tee and see 11. Incredible hole. Intimidating tee shot over the ravine. And then an approach over another ravine where coming up short means a long walk down a big slope.

Shoreacres 14th. Redan. More subdued than others such as Chicago. When I played the greens were firm and rolling. The kicker deflected the ball nicely down the slope, for my partner, because I ended up short left. lol

@RadRural Was fortunate enough to play it in March. Loved being able to watch the Western Intercollegiate there after playing it. Gives you a glimpse into how good those guys are.

Yale is def more dramatic. Played before the renovation and really enjoyed it. Look forward to seeing what Gil and his team have done with the place. Flyovers look very good. But definitely nearly unwalkable unlike Shoreacres, which was a delightful walk. Membership vibe not included in ranking decision, lol although obviously important.

@eholt_37 I love Merion, it was absolutely fantastic. A very demanding course, every shot needed full concentration and respect. Shoreacres had just a little more forgiveness.

@RadRural Merion is my #1 in that category as of today, but feel that SA would be right there...
