It's late, I'm up in 3.5 hours for the school run.
I don't care if spelling and grammar is out the window because we the Los Angeles Rams
And this is our house!!!!!
#ramshouse
Because actual drama is difficult to find at the moment, Puca Nacua has had over 100 yards of receiving and a TD wiped away by penalties in the past two weeks.
Let’s be honest a huge portion of the fanbase wanted Pochettino out before that deflected Harry Kane goal against Villa on a miserable November night and I’m sure the vast majority are glad he wasn’t fired then!
The reality is our “best XI” for many of the club’s best years were not ready-made superstars. They were developed patiently under a manager who was given the time and trust to mould them.
Frank has a proven track record of developing players, as Poch had before he arrived, Frank is actually a very decent human being who speaks openly and honestly despite how much abuse he receives. I get it you don’t want him to remind you that Ange finished 17th, but the reality is that’s what happened and only a sloppy Johnson goal in Bilbao saves Ange from being our worst ever managerial appointment!
The uncomfortable truth is this: the pressure that would quite rightly have landed on Ange in season three has been immediately transferred to Frank, simply because he’s the new man. This isn’t a continuation it’s a fresh start.
Has Frank got everything right yet? No.
But he should be given at least a full season to show whether he can.
And for those already writing new players off after a handful of games or those lambasting the age of the others it’s probably worth remembering the history of our most exciting team in the last 10 years…
1️⃣ Hugo Lloris arrived as France’s No.1 and a “statement signing”, yet struggled badly early on and couldn’t even dislodge Brad Friedel at first.
2️⃣ Kyle Walker was widely viewed as the weaker half of the Walker–Naughton double deal and needed multiple loans before he looked anywhere near ready.
3️⃣ Danny Rose was a £1m punt from Leeds, raw, inconsistent, and it took 3–4 seasons before he became the player everyone later claimed was “obvious”.
4️⃣ Toby Alderweireld had failed to convince at Atlético, enjoyed one solid season at Southampton, and we simply capitalised on the opportunity.
5️⃣ Jan Vertonghen wasn’t some finished article either, he had dodgy periods in his first few seasons before becoming that Jan.
6️⃣ Mousa Dembélé arrived as a No.9 from Fulham and had to be completely re-engineered into the midfielder we remember.
7️⃣ Eric Dier was a kid signed from Sporting who played RB, CB, and even flirted with CM in pre-season before finding his role.
8️⃣ Heung-Min Son wanted to return to Germany after just one season.
9️⃣ Dele Alli was signed from League Two.
1️⃣0️⃣ Christian Eriksen was clearly talented, but if he was truly “elite-ready”, the European heavyweights would have been all over him — much like the conversation around Simons today.
1️⃣1️⃣Harry Kane went through multiple failed loans, came back repeatedly, and only took his chance when the door finally opened.
🤝🔏And let’s talk about the constant talk on this platform of Spurs always selling on their best players, let me ask you a question, since we sold Walker to Man City for £50m in 2017 who have we actually sold on that’s in our best player bracket? Eriksen in 2020 (with 6 months left on this contract) and Kane in 2023? So let’s drop the narrative of Spurs always lose their best players
💰🤑Let’s also address the constant talk of Spurs not spending enough money because Spurs have the 4th largest net spend of Premier League club in the last 8 years.
❌ Whilst we are here also worth pointing out that Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, United, Arsenal, Newcastle and Villa didn’t sign Wharton, Eze or Olise and countless other players whilst they were in the championship despite the vast majority being linked with these players too, also worth remembering how much our fanbase slate ‘another unproven kid’ as a signing…
Maybe stop whining, try getting behind the club, the manager and the team and show some patience to a guy that if given time has the potential to turn Spurs into a very attractive club, getting the most out of the tools he has 👍🏻
It’s funny because when we beat Everton everyone wanted to talk like we were fucking class
I know what I’m watching and it’s disgustingly basic football on the ball
Set-pieces or bust, it’s mid table stuff
@NathanAClark@Icarustumbling Interested on your thoughts on Johnson under Frank. He only did one thing very well under Ange (the most important thing), but will he get those same back post tap ins? Will we need someone to do literally all of the other stuff?
