I was scammed by @Polymarket for $42,697.31 USDC with shares over 800K for the question - Will MicroStrategy sells any Bitcoin by May 31? I bet on "Yes". The description the question included originally below: "This market will resolve to "Yes" if MicroStrategy sells any of its Bitcoin by 11:59 PM ET on the date specified in the title. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source for this market will be information from MSTR and on-chain data, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used". MicroStrategy did indeed sell Bitcoin between May 26 to May 31 based on Sec 8K filing reported on June 1 and on-chain data. On June 1 at 1PM ET, @Polymarket made a rule change that included the following: "No information from MSTR, on-chain data, or consensus of credible reporting confirmed that MicroStrategy sold Bitcoin within the market's timeframe. Confirmation achieved outside of the market's time frame does not qualify". The rule change completely resulted in "No" answer and changed the original interpretation that I had used. UMA oracle voters decided with "No" answer based on the rule change made by @Polymarket on June 1 at 1P.M. ET. This is completely unfair practice by @Polymarket . This has resulted in many other traders' losses as well. I hope @Polymarket do the right thing and atleast refund "Yes" traders on this market. Thank you very much.

trader on Polymarket lost $96k on a single trade someone dropped ~$96k into YES on the MicroStrategy market in the final hours — when it was already pricing NO at 99%. not an insider. an insider bets the winning side. this guy bet the side that lost. so why pour six figures into a near-dead position at the buzzer? he was betting the dispute would flip. they didn't. market closed NO. $96k gone

FYI: I fully intend to get paid out from my bet on Polymarket. I bet $500K that Microstrategy had sold Bitcoin before May 31st. In fact, they did. And there's no world in which you can argue that they didn't. Where's the money Shayne?

It appears that an Arca-connected wallet lost $100K on Polymarket this morning. This Polymarket wallet received deposits from, and is signed by, an Arca wallet. It spent $100K on YES for the “Did Microstrategy Sell BTC By May 31st” market at an average price of 0.5c. The market expired to 0.

FIVE HOURS LEFT 🕔 @polymarket traders are livid over a proposal to resolve "no" on "@Strategy sells any BTC by May 31" even though $MSTR did sell $BTC in May. Final decision expected by 8pm ET. @wowens covered the dispute in a new report to our clients & counterparties.

FOR THIS SITUATION The fair resolution should be YES. The market question is not “ polymarket.com/event/microstr… ” The question is whether MicroStrategy sells any Bitcoin by May 31, 2026, 11 :59 PM ET. Strategy’s own filing confirmed that it sold 32 BTC between May 26 and May 31, 2026. That means the sale occurred inside the market’s timeframe. The fact that the filing became public on June 1 does not change the actual event date. ⚠️⚠️ If Polymarket wanted this market to require confirmation before the deadline, the rule needed to say that clearly. It did not. The rule says “sells,” not “announces,” “discloses,” or “is confirmed before the deadline.” ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ There is also precedent. In the Khamenei “out as Supreme Leader by March 31” market, the resolution depended on whether the event occurred within the market timeframe, not simply whether every piece of confirmation was available before the deadline. That market went through disputes and still finalized YES. ⚠️⚠️⚠️ Applying a different standard here creates an unfair double standard. A later disclosure can still prove that the underlying event happened before the deadline. ⚠️⚠️⚠️ Otherwise, Polymarket is changing the question after the fact from “Did the event happen?” to “Was the event confirmed before the deadline?” The evidence is clear: Strategy sold Bitcoin between May 26 and May 31. Therefore, under the plain wording of the market, the correct outcome is YES.

I have now sent the Polymarket evidence brief by email to: @CoinDesk @dlnews @CryptoSlate @FT @washingtonpost If you care about fair markets, please like, repost, and comment so more people can see this. If any journalist, editor, crypto researcher, legal analyst, or media friend is willing to review the evidence and write about this publicly, I would be deeply grateful. This should not fade away quietly. Too many users trusted the written rules. Too many people are now being ignored. We have to keep pushing. We have to fight this to the end. Rule before trade.

why i think MicroStrategy sells any Bitcoin by May 31 should resolve YES. if the market hasn't resolved yet i believe the fair outcome is YES. anyone who actively uses prediction markets knows that many markets have a delay of several days to confirm information about an event after the deadline. that's just how it works. what raises more questions is the new rule that appeared after the fact: confirmation achieved outside of the market's time frame does not qualify. in my opinion the fair resolution is YES and polymarket should acknowledge the mistake. the alternative legitimizes adding rules after the market outcome. that destroys trust. YES went from 0.1 to 1.2 in the last few hours. that's a 12x.

#Polymarket faces #SCAM accusations over a $118M bet on whether #Strategy sold #BTC by May 31. Users claim the firm did sell, but Polymarket shifted rule interpretations post-closure and settled it as "No." Critics say traders lost #hundreds of thousands while Polymarket bagged $100k in fees. #MarketUpdate #StockMarket #trading #USA #stocks #Bullish #bearish #TRUMP $Trump #America #DonaldTrump #rates #GlobalTrade #altcoin #altcoins #altseason #coin #coins #token #cryptocurrency #UnitedStates #Bitcoin $BTC #POLY #MSTR $MSTR #HODL

you can’t change the rules after the game ends. apparently you can on Polymarket. the market was called “MicroStrategy sells any Bitcoin by May 31.” not “discloses a sale by May 31.” not “files an 8-K confirming a sale by May 31.” just “sells.” if the resolution standard is based on publicly available evidence before the deadline, fine. but then the market title needs to say that. ordinary users read “sells” as an event, not a disclosure event. those are two different things. the ambiguity wasn’t created by the traders. it was created by the wording. and then on June 1, after the deadline, Polymarket added a new rule: “confirmation achieved outside of the market’s time frame does not qualify.” you can’t add rules after the deadline has passed and the outcome is already in dispute. that’s not clarification. that’s rewriting the contract after the fact in your favor. you can defend the resolution all day. but you can’t defend adding rules after the deadline.
