I think I have an interesting perspective to share to DTC Twitter now that I run a $35M book of commerce agency business.
I intend to get to 100 brands spending $1M per year.
Every brand should feel really great about the money they're spending. It will be a mix of capex and opex.
Full funnel services. DTC brands have never had truly excellent full funnel treatment.

@minafahmi This certainly looks better than that mask I've been seeing on here

@JordanGal wait, so you're telling me that when VCs give me a valuation it doesn't mean that I can take that to the bank??
English

i have a saying that friends get a kick out of. in relation to business, my mantra is:
“after-tax money in your personal bank account”
it’s a touch crass, but it’s clarifying!
how much money you raised? how many people work for you? your revenue?
let’s be serious, those don’t matter nearly as much to you or i as the mantra.

@codyplof @jonesroadbeauty generational run! Can't wait to see what's next. You've always got a spot at the Superfiliate office if you're in the city and want to hang!

I am excited to announce that today is my last day as CEO of @jonesroadbeauty.
I have decided to step down from my day-to-day role for a mixture of personal and professional reasons.
I am incredibly proud of what we were able to accomplish in around 5 years and never thought in my wildest of dreams we would be here so quickly.
This has been an incredible ride and I have learned so much from it. We built a bootstrapped, 9 figure profitable business from my hometown in NJ without any wholesale or Amazon.
But I also have to be honest with myself about what I enjoy doing and also what the business needs in its next phase. I know for certain this is the right call.
Professionally, I'd rather be building funnels and runnings ads than managing people and dealing with various BS that comes with being CEO. I haven't gotten to do the fun stuff in a while.
For Jones Road, I know the business will be better served by an experienced CEO who has a different skillset than mine and a renewed passion for the business. This is 100% my decision and I have no shame in saying that even though I helped us get here, I am not the right person for the next phase.
And on a personal level, I've poured almost everything I have into this business. I need time to step back, focus on myself, and enjoy life a little more.
I am going to be moving to the board and will remain actively involved as an advisor and board member.
I am not sure what's next for me. I'm going to take a bunch of time and not rush into anything. MOPS will continue of course.
But I have some ideas and will continue building with AI, might take some consulting opps, and then will ponder if I want to start something of my own or take a role somewhere.
Thank you to my team, family, and partners for all of your support. JRB and myself wouldnt be here without you.

Partnership ads outlast every other Meta format, and it isn't close
Measured using restricted mean survival time.
In clinical trials it measures how many days the average patient survives over a fixed window.
Pointed at ads it asks one thing: of an ad's first 90 days, how many does it stay live and spending.
Call it staying power
Here's how the formats ranked.
Partnership (creator) ads last 50.5 days
Static lasts 38.4
Brand-run video, 28.1
So creator ads run about 1.3x longer than static and 1.8x longer than video.
What that gap really means: at day 90, 29% of creator ads were still spending, against about 11% of statics.
And the spend curve tells the same story.
A static spends 59% of its lifetime budget in the first two weeks then fades.
Brand video spends 92%, basically a one-week burst.
Creator ads spend just 36%, then keep carrying $20 to $28 a day for two months.
So what do you do with a creative line that lasts?
1. Treat winners like assets
If a creator ad is still spending in month two, stop rotating it out with the rest of your testing.
2. Build production around it
Lean your output toward the format that converts cold and survives.
Simply, you should get more long lasting ads.
Most creative is disposable.
You launch it, it spikes, it dies, you swap it.
Creator ads often behave like durable inventory, so build your flywheel around the ones that keep paying rent and let your growth rate compound with them.

@DeanTTraining @getsourmilk is a great alternative with no added sugar OR fake sugars
English

Attention Costco Shoppers:
Please AVOID these Oikos Triple Zero Greek Yogurts at ALL COSTS
I know I’ve promoted them in the past but my friend Courtney here just informed me they’re bad for you b/c they have “FAKE SUGAR”
All the “chemicals” are “not good for us”
Watch out!

𝙲𝚘𝚞𝚛𝚝𝚗𝚎𝚢 𝙺𝚗𝚒𝚕𝚕@courtneyknill
I don’t think we should be consuming fake sugar guys (looking at the yogurt)
English

@DeanTTraining I somehow go through 6 tubs of @getsourmilk every week but honestly easier than how much chicken I used to eat to get protein

Maturing is realizing if the average American replaced all the sweets they eat each day with 3-5 of these for the next 12 months…they’d drop 30+ lbs and their bloodwork would be the best it’s been since they were 18 years old
Not trolling even a little bit

Luka@nivholls
Maturing is realising these mf's do more harm than good.

@gregisenberg I have photo evidence of a GP visibly falling asleep during the pitch with his mansion and infinity pool in the background
English

I was once pitching in a board room at a top 3 VC firm for a $15M Series A.
12 people in the meeting. One of the GPs fully fell asleep. Out cold for 30+ minutes. Nobody acknowledged it. Everyone just kept going.
I kept presenting my Series A slides to an unconscious man in a Herman Miller chair and somehow that was considered normal. That's venture capital.
You might fly across the country to perform for people who may or may not be conscious.
It's a dance.
And sometimes you lead and sometimes you follow and sometimes your partner is unconscious.
If you're raising right now, just know: every founder has a story like this. The process is weird. The power dynamic is weird. You're not crazy for thinking it's weird.
No one talks about it because they want to continue raising. But I'm happy to stick my neck out there.
It is weird.

@AlanaDLevin And they haven’t even launched flavors or sizes or left nyc yet 👀

Correction: we posted inflated heavy metal contamination levels for LMNT electrolytes.
A calculation error overstated lead, cadmium and arsenic per serving.
Corrected amounts:
- Citrus Salt: Lead 0.0773 µg/serving (15% MADL), cadmium 1%, arsenic 0.5%, mercury non-detect
- Raw Unflavored: Lead 0.0945 µg/serving (19% MADL), cadmium, arsenic, mercury non-detect.
Both under the MADL, California's strictest daily lead reference (0.5 µg/day).
Based on the latest verified lab reports. Amounts and scoring may change with new data.
We're adding review steps and bringing on more scientific and engineering support to reduce future mistakes
