A team from Kent-based Countrystyle Recycling has been praised after coming to the aid of a 75-year-old woman who suffered a serious fall in her garden in Bexley. Waste operatives Tom Featherstone from Dartford, Darren Stow from Erith and Daniel Rydqvist from Thamesmead, a qualified first aider, were on their round in Halcot Avenue when they discovered Angela Montelbano, who was semi-conscious and bleeding heavily. Neighbour Christine Garrett, who was also at the scene, thanked the team, describing them as “heroes” and adding: “Countrystyle is lucky to have them.” The three employees have since received commendation letters and vouchers from Countrystyle, along with a personal letter of thanks from Cllr Baroness O’Neil, Leader of the London Borough of Bexley.
