@DanC261020 @mattybellmufc Yep, makes no sense that he would leave. If it was from anybody else Id block them. Although Mitten has already blocked me so job done 😆
English

@AndyMk_83 @mattybellmufc Hasn’t he just signed a 400k per week contract?
English

@DanC261020 @mattybellmufc 2024/25 Baleba is exactly what Id love. The fall off has been so extreme though that hed be a big risk. Probably Scott for me. But £80m is excessive. I see Mitten saying yesterday Tchouameni could still leave. 🤦♂️
English

@AndyMk_83 @mattybellmufc It’s changed based on the two we’ve brought in tbh mate, so going off what I’ve been saying about thinking we need to add physicality and athleticism, I think Baleba probably fits the bill best now for me, but I also wouldn’t be against Sander Berge, I’ve always liked him. You?
English

@voiceofKeith Yeh but they beat everyone in Spain and everyone everywhere else.
English

@AndyMk_83 PL is a lot different from Spain, and the midfield you name was a once in a lifetime mix. Ball players yes, but if they get overrun we’re back to CBs getting monstered.
English

Surely it's a no brainer to leave this lad play out the final year of his contract, see how he gets on and go back and take him on a free next summer. Im sure a big part of him is already thinking about playing for United.
Fabrizio Romano@FabrizioRomano
🚨🇧🇷 Éderson to Manchester United not expected be revisited or reactivated at any time this summer. Discussions completely collapsed since Friday last week, as revealed. Éderson has received new contract proposal from Atalanta.
English

@AndyMk_83 @mattybellmufc I mean you used a screenshot of some totally irrelevant match stats, at least I tried to delve in to more of we were actually debating. Happy to bow out as well though 👍🏼
English

@AndyMk_83 @mattybellmufc You’re right about one of our biggest weaknesses being retaining possession, but surely we’ve addressed that, so now we should address the other glaringly obvious weakness which is our lack of athleticism, would that not make sense?
English

@PuddinGRK86 Yeh depends on the extent. I remember us going back for RvN after he did his cruciate, although he was much younger and far more talented.
English

@AndyMk_83 It really depends on whether the knee thing is real. If he needs surgery in the long term I doubt they will go back in
English

@DanC261020 @mattybellmufc Sound. Now can you show me an article where Mainoo and Santos are described as "absolute slugs"?
Of course you need players who can get about the pitch, but not at the expense of someone who can retain possession. For me its our biggest weakness. Scott could perhaps give both.
English

@AndyMk_83 @mattybellmufc And luckily, according to the oracle that is David Ornstein, United agree with me as well 😃👌🏼

English

@DanC261020 @mattybellmufc You said we set up in those to counter. We didnt set up to counter against city and we battered Liverpool in the first half before gifting them a way back second half. We didnt set up to counter v arsenal either ⬇️ No idea why id need to give examples pre carrick.

English

@AndyMk_83 @mattybellmufc We did yeah, so that’s one game against a top side in the last 6 years we’ve done that, any other examples? I can’t believe we’re even debating this tbh 😂
English

@DanC261020 @mattybellmufc We didnt counter city we battered them from minute one until the final whistle.
English

@mattybellmufc @AndyMk_83 We set up in those to counter the fact we didn’t have legs, you can get away with it playing a low block and everyone compact, it’s the games we’re expecting to dominate and everyone is further up the pitch where we’re susceptible to the counter attack, that’s when you need legs
English

@AndyMk_83 Couldn’t agree more. Know the game’s evolved but we had our most successful period with Scholes/Carrick
English

@DanC261020 Think it was as much to do with the system. We got run through regularly with McTominay and Fred, two workhorses who couldn't retain possession well enough.
English

@AndyMk_83 I just think there’s enough evidence already in front of our eyes from the past few seasons, by the amount of goals we’ve conceded on the counter attack, that we’re lacking legs in midfield and or defence.
English

@DanC261020 The game always evolves but that Barca team would dominate any one in today's PL. They'd obliterate that Arsenal team. Recovery pace is important but who had it in city's midfield when they'd Rodri/ DeBruyne? I accept you cant have 2 Casemiros but you equally don't need 2 Kenyans
English

@AndyMk_83 But when you lose the ball you do need recovery pace as well, something we currently don’t have, the premier league is way more transitional now and the game is way faster than in 09, it’s incomparable tbh.
English

@DanC261020 Obviously they function well as a team but dont think their fullbacks recover the ball in centre mid and stop players running through their midfield. Barca started the 09 final with Puyol and Sylvinho at full back. You need MFs to keep the ball. Something we dont do well enough.
English

@AndyMk_83 PSG have Hakimi and Mendes, two of the best fullbacks in the world, with incredible recovery pace, we don’t have that, think that’s why we now need a Baleba type to complement what we currently have, or we strengthen the defence.
